Kremlin: Putin, in a Phone Call with Trump, Proposes How to End Iran War

Russian President Vladimir Putin, in a telephone conversation on Monday with U.S. President Donald Trump, put forward proposals for a quick settlement of the conflict around Iran, Kremlin foreign policy aide Yuri Ushakov said.

"He described the entire discussion as "very substantial" and said it would "likely have practical significance for further work between the two countries".

Ushakov said Putin "expressed several thoughts aimed at a quick political and diplomatic end to the Iranian conflict, including contacts that have taken place with leaders of Gulf states, the president of Iran and leaders of other countries".

He said Trump "offered his assessment of developments in the U.S.-Israeli operation. Let me say that a very substantial and, without doubt, useful exchange of ideas took place."

All Trump is doing is to find what formula of words and behaviors that lead him to the highest level of popularity. Or said another way, reduce the maximum amount of shame.

This is the sort of thing he has always done and always will do. He's crazy, and this is one way he acts that way.

Why would he want this war to end?

It's weakening America.

It's creating an increased demand for oil.

Trump rolled back Russian Oil Sanctions.

Putin is dangling his oil in front of Europe and they'll capitulate soon enough.

This all a win for Russia.

The French moved their aircraft carrier to the Middle East and Ukraine may be sending anti-drone weapons to the US.

Europe is weaker now thanks to Bibi.

But Vladimir Putin vowing his undying loyalty to the new ayatollah doesn't cost him one ruble.

And Putin still needs Shahed drones from Iran, so he has to make nice with the Iranian military-industrial complex.

All this talk by Pres Trump about meeting [unspecified] objectives and the war being mostly done, we've not heard a word from Israel.

Are the aims of Israel and the US even the same regarding Iran?
