The parade won't be cheap.

Defense officials told NBC News that the estimated cost could be as high as $45 million, with individual Army units ultimately bearing the cost of the parade " which could potentially impact funds used for training.

Trump said it would be worth it.

"Peanuts compared to the value of doing it," Trump said of the cost. "We have the greatest missiles in the world. We have the greatest submarines in the world. We have the greatest army tanks in the world. We have the greatest weapons in the world. And we're going to celebrate it."

The event, which will also mark the Army's 250th birthday, is expected to include 6,600 soldiers, an Army spokesman said.

Defense officials familiar with the planning said it is also expected to feature more than 50 aircraft and 150 military vehicles, which could include wheeled vehicles such as Humvees and trucks, and so-called tracked vehicles, like tanks.

The military parade is just one of several events Trump said he intends to host this year to mark America's wartime achievements."

"You know, if you look at Russia, they celebrate Victory Day," he had previously noted.

"I think you can have two days," Trump said.

"This doesn't mean we're going to go and not work and have a national holiday and all of that, because we don't have many of those days left. You know, eventually our country will become all national holidays."

'Trump Plantation' does have a nice ring to it! Though we may quickly get into Soylent Green territory, what with all the Trump Robots doing all the werk.

I hear the Immigrant Green Chili flavor is out of this world!

I just can't wait to hear from our, 'Trump the Peace President' Trumpers here about his Parade of War Machinery aka Ike's MIC warning.

... "Peanuts compared to the value of doing it," ...

So the cost to all Americans of an adulation parade for Pres trump is peanuts, yet he is telling children to expect less presents for Christmas?

He's the Orange Grinch Who Stole Christmas. And all the rest of the Holidays (Holy Days) in favor of Trump's Loyalty Birthday.

@#7 ... Grinch Who Stole Christmas ...

Yup.

Pres Trump looks to be the epitome of excessive spending. (can you say extremely lavish personal properties? I knew you could.)

But when it comes to the working families trying to buy Christmas presents for their children, Pres Trump's advice is, basically, your children will have to do with less.

Let them eat cake.

A draft dodger does not deserve a military parade.

Stinky the brain dead rapist just lost another F/A-18.

#13: Each F/A-18 Super Hornet fighter jet costs the American taxpayer between $55 million and $72 million apiece. I hope the crew survived. Trumpf had announced that he stopped the costly bombing campaign of the starving Houthis which only served to harden their resolve while wasting US military resources. The Houthis have retaliated on behalf of the poor Palestinians, including a successful missile strike on Ben Gurion Airport the other day.

If a girl can do with fewer dolls, why can't Donny Dimwit do with fewer golf outings to help pay for it?

It's not the cost so much as it's an absolute insult and absolute disgrace to our country.

From the meme:

When asked if the United States should have a military parade to show off its might, this was then President Eisenhower's response:

Absolutely not. We are the pre-eminent power on Earth. For us to try and imitate what the Soviets are doing in Red Square would make us look weak.

That's a great quote, don't think I knew that one.

Now we are done with imitating them; we want to BE them! The Strongman there, after several decades, become top window-death threatening Oligarch himself.

Which is what Trump loves about him.

Thanks, Trumpers!

Make the cost $47mm and El Heavy will double down on the event. Americans should stay away, or show up waving flags from Russia or China ...

Isn't Trump a billionaire?

Why doesn't he pay for his stupid parade?

Deplorable Trumping MAGAts are really the stupidest people in America.

Why doesn't he pay for his stupid parade?

He's pretending it's for the 250th anniversary of the US Army, not him.

Well, yeah.

To try to look strong is the reason behind the military parade, even though Pres Trump appears to think this parade would be a show of the power of the United States.

Just ask the dictators of the world, e.g., Pres Putin and Leader Kim. Their military parades seem to be an expression of, ~if you counter me, this is what you will face.~

imo, a weakness in leadership, but a show of strength for dictatorship.

My guess would be that the military would rather spend their time protecting the Country, and not expressing adulation of an apparent attention-craving malignant narcissist.

But, that's just me ....
