More from the article...

... House Republicans, led by Representative James Comer, subpoenaed O'Connor in June, ordering him to testify "as part of the investigation into the cover-up of President Joe Biden's cognitive decline."

Biden dropped his bid for reelection after a disastrous debate performance last year raised concerns about his age and mental fitness. After leaving office, he has come under renewed scrutiny since revealing he had been diagnosed with an aggressive form of prostate cancer and the publication of books alleging a cover-up of Biden's decline while he was in office.

He has strongly rejected the notion that he has been mentally unfit at any point during his presidency, calling the allegations "ridiculous and false."

What To Know

On Wednesday O'Connor's attorneys, David Schertler and Mark MacDougall, released a statement on behalf of their client stating, "the totality of the circumstances surrounding this Committee's investigation leave Dr. O'Connor no choice but to decline to answer questions."

The statement continued, "the physician patient privilege and the physician's ethical duty of confidentiality require that Dr. O'Connor refuse to testify about any aspect of his care and treatment of President Biden.

O'Connor previously served as Biden's family physician before taking on the role of White House doctor. His appearance before the committee followed weeks of negotiation. ...

First, Comer ... seriously?

Second, breaking patient-doctor confidentiality sets up a potential malpractice situation.

Third, I'm more interested in the shuffling wreck currently occupying the Oval Office.

@#2 ... First, Comer ... seriously? ...

Yeah, I noticed that also.

The only way an investigation could be made less serious may be if Rep Jordan were running it.

You can't make me wear a mask because of HIPAA - MAGATS
Biden's doctor must ignore HIPAA and share all the details about his patient's health - Also MAGATS

Option 1 - push a conspiracy despite lacking supporting evidence.
Option 2 - attempt to force a doctor to break confidentiality.

I think we all know that option 1 has been their plan from the start.

Good point. I suspect Doctor Patient confidentiality can withstand just about any legal attack, but I'm not sure if Republicans thought of that.

This is the point of this charade. It's all about innuendo and insinuation.

The doctor was intentionally put into an unprecedented and untenable position to force an appearance of him "hiding" something.

" Easy enough to offer him immunity and order him to testify or face contempt.."

During the unraveling of the wretched Iran-Contra Affair, Oliver North got limited immunity from an arrangement of that sort and, as a result, walked.

Oliver North

There's a meme floating around, which I will now butcher into text format.

Left panel is a youngish man from the Iran-Contra days, "This man sold bombs to Iran."

Right panel is an older man at a Fox News desk, "This man says we should bomb Iran."

Bottom Text. "It's the same man. Lt. Col Oliver North sold weapons to Iran in the 80s in the Iran-Contta Scandal and is now a military analyst working for Fox News."

LOL, you ------- liberals have an allergic reaction to the truth and finally waking up to the fact that the Democrat lied right to your stupid smug faces over and over again.

We told you right here on this very website that the progression of the disease was not possible the way Biden's press release stated. You chose to side with your lying overlords.

Well, here we are again - making the lying Dr. testify and - IN A SURPRISE TO NO ONE - he pleads the 5th.

As the great Mark Twain stated and summing up the Democrat voters: "It's easier to fool people than to convince them that they have been fooled." - well, at least the 19% of the country that still identifies as Democrats.

Now for some very appropriate whataboutism----

Donald Trump is a mentally-ll man in obvious cognitive and physical decline.

Maybe we'll get to call his doctors to testify some day soon.

Lying has consequences - just not with the Democrat voters that blindly accept it. In your case, you are not even a Democrat voter given your Canadian nationality. It takes a special kind of stupid for someone, that is not even American voter, to give this kind of blind, cult-like loyalty as you do.

All I see with this is what we should have been discussing with Reagan... and tried too... back in the 80's... but nooooooooooooooooooooo.

GFY repubicl0wns... we plan to name an airport after our sock puppet just like you did with yours... Biden didn't leave us with a cocaine pipeline... or voodoo economic plans... like Reagan did.

Your current sock puppet is going to leave office in disgrace... AGAIN.

He's reaching his 12-year expiration date... as bad ideas tend to do.

In the meantime... enjoy voodoo economics deux

Trumpanzee lost to Biden and won against women... the US doesn't elect women... his election is a theatrical gimmee... the clown brigade is running with it.

Remember how Bushturd 1 had to pass the largest tax increase in US history to cover Reagan's raise the debt ceiling 19 times economy?... Here we go again! One trick dumb@$$ery.

"not exactly sure why this is a scandal."

Not a "scandal". Just more republican kabuki theater to support previous Trumpy and maga lies.

When reporters asked Mike Johnson to respond to President Donald Trump's pardons for more than 1,000 people charged in the January 6, 2021, attack on the US Capitol, the House speaker had a ready answer.

"We're not looking backwards. We're looking forward," he said Wednesday morning.

Barely three hours later, Johnson announced the creation of a new select subcommittee to continue the GOP's probe into January 6, because "there is more work to be done." He also said Republicans would investigate pardons handed out by President Joe Biden on his way out the door.

Sure do. It comes with the responsibility of choosing a lucrative line of work, making solid investments and owning two homes - one which I recently sold.

Working the graveyard at the bath house and living in your mom's garage will not get you there.

STFU raetard. If it were up to Biden we would have all lost our jobs.

So rabid now that you pwn yourself?

It WAS up to Biden and Official reports indicate that as of July 2024, the U.S. economy added nearly 16 million jobs under the Biden-Harris administration.

Trumpy is much more interested in cutting jobs than producing them.

Now you go ahead and blame what you called a democrats HOAX for Trumpy's poor job creation.

It wasn't up to Biden?
Who was it up to?

Since you brought it up:
It's up to Trump to fire government workers, right?
You would be okay if Trump fired everyone in government who got vaccinated, right?
