... In a letter sent Tuesday to Smithsonian Institution Secretary Lonnie Bunch III, the White House laid out in detail the steps it expects the organization to take as part of the announced review.

The examination will look at all public-facing content, such as social media, exhibition text and educational materials, to "assess tone, historical framing, and alignment with American ideals," according to the letter.

"This initiative aims to ensure alignment with the President's directive to celebrate American exceptionalism, remove divisive or partisan narratives, and restore confidence in our shared cultural institutions," the letter said.

Soon to be under new management. That sort of nonsense will not be tolerated.

The same Pres Trump who did not seem to know that Alaska was a proud State in the United States, and not part of Russia?

OK, back in the day, I used to visit the Nightshift Cafe in Naugatuck, CT for concerts.

One such concert that stood out to me over the years (decades?) was Ms Joanna Connor.

Circa 1989, 1990.

My friend and I walked in and sat down at a table, and ordered a brew.

After a while, a lady started to walk around the caf, talking to people. In my conversation with the, she was most amicable. I thought she might just be a random person talking to people.

Then she walked to the stage and started to warm up.

Wow. Holy friggin' pasture pastries, just wow.

Here's an example of the awesome guitar playing I heard that evening ...

Trump won't be happy until the Smithsonian is saying that the British had airplanes during the revolutionary war and that the Battle of Baltimore took place during that war.

"Our army manned the air, it rammed the ramparts, it took over the airports, it did everything it had to do, and at Fort McHenry, under the rockets' red glare, it had nothing but victory." - Donald Trump July 4, 2019

Welcome 1984. We were wondering when you'd finally get here.

Don't forget, there is a long way to fall.
Originally, America was founded by old rich white men, many of whom "owned" fellow humans as slaves so that the well off could live a life of privilege. Women were not allowed the vote, or to work in responsible jobs, and the poor who didn't own property didn't get to vote.
In many states, say Virginia, there were laws mandating attendance at the local Christians sect's churches.

Originally, America was founded by refuges from Europe. For three hundred the colonies where democracies. In Rhode Island, women could vote and own property. Everybody was a property owner because land was free, so everybody could vote under English Common Law.

But, hey, 2% of Southerners owned slaves. Americas bought 400,o00, Mexico 200,000 (but had a slave genocide), Brazil 2 million, Argentina 4 million (but had 5 slave genocides - no Black Argentinas left), Canada 27,500 (slavery ended in 1901), and every country in Central and South America owned slaves. Which is why they are poor today, just like the South and the Snow Mexicans.

Who is poor? WTF are you babbling about now? The south is full of wealthy people. The reason why he colored folk are so poor is they started the race at the back of the room. By design. Mkay?

You should stick to UFOs.

No way to disprove any of that crap you spout about it.

Take 2

The reason why the colored folk are so poor is they started the race at the back of the room line. And they have been handicapped all the way right up until the 1960s.

By design. Mkay?

If Trump does in fact build his $200M extension to the WH, the next dem president should turn it over to the Smithsonian to be used as a DEI shrine.
