Darn it. It's a broken link.

I wanted to see why California isn't on the list.

We are usually number one in everything. I can't imagine what went wrong.

Re 5

Thx for the link.

Indeed, the bottom 60% of U.S. households (by income) fall short of the threshold for a minimal quality of life, according to a Ludwig Institute for Shared Economic Prosperity (LISEP) analysis. (The analysis takes into account essentials, like food and shelter, as well as basic leisure costs, such as streaming subscriptions.)

Are we Great yet?

White Texans and Floridians have plenty of money to purchase firearms and ammunition. No surprise: Both states lead America with mass shootings. Link: www.forbes.com

How about we take a look at California....

Is the state of California currently in debt?
CALIFORNIA HAS MORE THAN $60 BILLION IN DEBT ' AND THAT AMOUNT IS GROWING RAPIDLY. California has no law limiting the amount of public debt the state can accumulate.

California consistently ranks among the states with the highest number of bankruptcy filings

Yes, there's evidence suggesting a trend of wealthy individuals leaving California. This is driven by factors like high living costs, taxes, and a desire for different lifestyles, leading to a net loss of high-income earners and their associated tax revenue

California's state and local governments have significant debt, totaling roughly $1.6 trillion. This includes unfunded liabilities and debt from borrowing for infrastructure projects and services. While California contributes a large amount to the federal government in taxes, it also receives federal funding. The state's debt, while substantial, may not be unmanageable given the size of its economy, but future financial decisions will be crucial, according to the California Policy Center.

The state's debt problem is largely due to rapid growth in unfunded liabilities for pension and health care retirement benefits already promised to public workers

The most popular state for Californians to move to is Texas. Many Californians are relocating to Texas due to factors like lower cost of living, no state income tax, and a strong job market, particularly in tech, energy, and healthcare.
While Texas is the top destination, other states like Arizona, Nevada, and Florida also attract significant numbers of Californians

California subsidizes Red States. I agree with MSGT, California should stop funding Repubican welfare States and recoup some of that debt. Cut off the takers!

" California consistently ranks among the states with the highest number of bankruptcy filings"

Which goes hand-in-hand with the largest population, not to mention the most opportunity.

What's next: you're stunned by the income inequality in the most prosperous state???

FL mostly old people and Canadians... Ironically run by politicians who hate Social Security and Canada... what could go wrong? Don't get me started on sov-cits in beaters.

Texass... drunks and junkies... low unemployment with high poverty... sold its largest oil refinery to Arabs... real estate owned by corporations... all hat and no cowboy. Every election cycle I wish Texass would secede and go back to Mexico where it belongs... It's already foreign-owned.

9 of the bottom 10 poorest states are red states.

They keep voting to be poor.

Now the world knows what Texans (should) know already: things are not rosy in Abbottistan.
