A federal judge on Tuesday barred President Donald Trump from deploying National Guard troops in California to execute law-enforcement actions there, including making arrests, searching locations, and crowd control. The ruling came in connection with a lawsuit by the state of California challenging Trump's deployment of the Guard to deal with protests in Los Angeles over the Trump administration's immigration enforcement policies. Judge Charles Breyer said that Trump's deployment of the troops violated the federal Posse Comitatus Act.

Are guard members trained on local and state laws and law enforcement policies? Have they been trained on respecting the civil rights of detainees? Why would anyone think they should be used from law enforcement without such training?

Of course it's illegal.

Dear Leader thinks he is above the law and violates it regularly.

And maga morons cheer him on.

He told us he was gonna do it. Everyone told him it was against the law the constitution everything that America stands for. He did it anyway and we now have to prove him wrong over and over and over in a court of Law because Congress is not doing its job or its duty.

That's the deal. For 3 more years (unless we retake the House).

Thanks America. You voted for the FAFO.

This is (some of)the FO part.

Trump can't be bothered to learn or understand the law. He just does what he wants and then lets the courts rule against him all the way up to the bought and paid for SCOTUS. Costs us, but not him. He doesn't care one bit.

This headline will be repeated for state after state in November, 2026, after the seizure of ballots and voting equipment, in an attempt to nullify the 2026 mid-terms, in which the bubbling Dems defeat their MAGA opponents, who by then cannot avoid the tidal waves of chaos generated by a badly dressed, fat orange criminal insurrectionist and golf cheat...

Since all these actions are illegal, Trump should be charged. Illegal is illegal as in immigrants are equally illegal, so should politicians.

It won't be cheap. It will take some real effort to twist themselves into a pretzel in order to overrule this one.

"them SCOTUS Justices gotta WORK for that RV"

More like Clearance Thomas.

"Worse yet, the lack of resistance from Congress or the courts suggests that there is little, if anything, to prevent Trump from expanding hiNo checks and balances as the Foubding Fathers intended. Mike Johmson is just a puppet; a spineless puppet! Namcy Pelosi was many things and the eight wing crazies hated her, hunted for her back in the Jan. 6 coup attempt but she was never a soineless coward like Mike Johnson.

Defying the stupid courts and getting things done.

According to our court system, enforcement of the law is actually always illegal. Hilarious anyone actually believes any of their bogus rulings.

I don't think so. Now that SCOTUS has ruled that judgements for defendants in District Court is limited only to named defendants, I suspect AGs from blue states will all join in on the next case and all subsequent cases headed to the SCOTUS.

Like LA did.

Congress retains control over the District's budget and can review and overturn local legislation. This unique status means D.C. residents lack full representation in Congress and are subject to federal jurisdiction, a core issue in the ongoing D.C. statehood movement.

Congress should have done some about the crime and homeless in DC ages ago.

LA is better example.

Governor Pritzker is a force to be reckoned with. And Mayor Johnson has already signed an EO to resist.

Stand back and stand by.

Governor Newsom secures federal court victory, Trump's use of National Guard in Los Angeles illegal

"Today, the court sided with democracy and the Constitution. No president is a king " not even Trump " and no president can trample a state's power to protect its people. As the court today ruled, Trump is breaking the law by creating a national police force with the President as its chief.' That's exactly what we've been warning about for months. There is no rampant lawlessness in California, and in fact, crime rates are higher in Republican-led states. Trump's attempt to use federal troops as his personal police force is illegal, authoritarian, and must be stopped in every courtroom across this country."
Governor Gavin Newsom
