No, Houston Texans quarterback C.J. Stroud did not speak out publicly about the death of Charlie Kirk this week, no matter what you might have read on social media. That goes for the Twitter account of Gov. Greg Abbott as well. There are several Facebook pages dedicated to sports that do nothing but make up ridiculously fake stories and wait for the social media interaction to roll in. Remember Jose Altuve supposedly being denied entrance at a Louis Vuitton store last month? It was obviously false and started on a fake page designed to rile up readers.

There's a similar page dedicated to the Houston Texans with fabricated stories like Will Anderson Jr., supposedly buying a $2.6 million house for homeless children in Houston or other players failing drug tests.

That's where Stroud's made-up comments about Kirk originated with one of the sites posting on Wednesday night, hours after the conservative activist was shot and killed in Utah:
