Almost two-thirds of Americans disapprove of President Trump's White House ballroom plan, according to a poll. In the Yahoo/YouGov poll, 61 percent of respondents said they did not support Trump's plan to add a ballroom, while 25 percent backed the move.

Here's a free link to a house editorial that illustrates the collapse of the new Washpost Opinion page. It's important to read it, because it is so poorly written and reasoned, and it shows how quickly an editorial institution can fall completely apart under spineless leadership. wapo.st/3J2IdIh

You mean that 61% of Americans do not like Pres Trump demolishing a part of the House they own and provide to Presidents?

It's not like he asked what Americans thought about it... he just tore it down because he could. And he could remodel the Safe Room below to protect him from future 'Karens'.

Like what he tried to do when he when he sent insurgents to riot at the WH, and told States to make Fake Ballots for him.

@#2 ... It's not like he asked what Americans thought about it... ...

From what I've seen, that has never been Pres Trump's approach.

Regarding real estate, he seems to have an approach he learned from his father.

From what I've seen...

~Don't ask for, or go through the process of, approval before demolition. Just demolish it, then there is no alternative but to allow you to build what you want.~

I think that the skating rink that Trump plans on the site of the Lincoln Memorial will be equally unpopular.

#4 | Posted by Zed at 2025-10-29 08:04 AM | Reply

when 100% of the press coverage is negative, you're going to be left with only Trumpers supporting it.

But nobody understands these polls.

People "don't approve". But the real question is.......do any of them really care? They don't ask that.

Eberly cares deeply about letting us know that liberals don't really care.

I feel for him... I'd like to think that if a Dem Pres ever did what Trump tried to do to stay in power, I would have joined something like the Lincoln Project on the Left, not just stopped caring.

-Are you suggesting that this is in error?

I don't know and I don't care if any of it's unfair. It appears deserved from my perspective.

I'm just saying that if you want to know how much people care, ask them how much they care.

Not simply approve vs disapprove. The vast majority of things I don't approve of are also things I care little about.

-It's Eberly who doesn't care.

I know you've sunken into a place where you make way too many things about me.

But that's another subject altogether.

But you fail to understand how significant it is to misunderstand or misinterpret the results of surveys like this.

They lead people to believe that if they simply say they disapprove of something, that means they also care about that issue. People prioritize things.....and not everything is that important to them, even when they "approve" or "disapprove" of something.

Want proof? Look at how many people, on election day, didn't really care enough about their disapproval of Trump to get off their assess and vote against him.

That's an example of "disapproval" doesn't equate to really caring about something.

A surprisingly progressive tune (progressive rock, not progressive politics) tune from from a current band ...

War On Drugs - Thinking Of A Place (2017)
www.youtube.com

An eleven minute tune, nicely constructed ...

Lyrics excerpt ...

genius.com

...
[Verse 1]
It was back in Little Bend that I saw you
Light was changing on the water
Where birds above had flown
There was pain in your eyes, so you vanished in the night
Missouri River in the distance
So I lied upon the lawn

[Verse 2]
I remember walking against the darkness of the beach
Love is like a ghost in the distance, out of reach
Travel through the night, 'cause there is no fear
Alone but right behind, 'til I watch you disappear

[Chorus]
I'm movin' through the dark of a long black night
Just movin' with the moon and the light it shines
And I'm thinking of a place and it feels so very real
Just movin' through the dark

[Instrumental Break]

[Verse 3]
Once I had a dream I was fallin' from the sky
Comin' down like running water
Passin' by myself alight
In the morning, I would wake to the sound of someone's voice
Like little whispers through the silence

[Chorus]
I'm movin' through the dark of a long black night
And I'm lookin' at the moon and the light it shines
But I'm thinking of a place, and it feels so very real
Oh, sufferer of love

[Bridge]
Come and take my hand, babe
There's a turn in the road that we've been takin'
Let it set you free
'Cause there's a rhythm in the way that we've been movin'
Yeah, there's a darkness over there, but we ain't goin'
...

Who really cares? I got a laugh out of seeing Harris rant and rave about it. It was 300 million of donated money. Meanwhile she got 1.8 BILLION from donors and blew it in 3 months with nothing to show. At least the country gets a ball room out of this one.

lol

How much of the "country" will ever get to use this ballroom?

I will bet most Americans will never even be allowed inside.

Pretty sure "the country" would much prefer affordable food and housing and better healthcare than a ballroom that they will never use.

Most likely the same amount of people who are allowed on any part of the WH. As I said, who cares? except whiney Dems who just have their usual tantrums about anything Trump does. But keep it up, it's what got him elected.

At least 500,000 people visit the WH each year. So you really think they are gonna let 500,000 people a year tramp around in the ballroom?

Not this President.

I do wonder tho what the future Presidents will convert it into. Assuming we have any future Presidents of course.

This just isn't clear to me. Hunters painting scheme was more clear for obvious reasons, yet you defended it.

So how is Trump or anyone related personally benefitting from the ballroom or the 747 for that matter?

Why would he give favors for no reason?

Unlike Hunter who actually received money from anonymous bidders.

Other polls also show only 25% or so approve of tearing down the East Wing to build his garish ballroom no one asked for.

Trump read "How To Win Friends and Influence People" upside down, 'cause his approval ratings are also headed to the toilet.
