Of the roundly criticized accent he adopted for Mary Poppins after working with an Irish accent coach, Van ---- has observed it should properly be traced to "a little shire in the north [of England]where most of the people were from Ohio." Terrific showman.

My Dad is 95, doing well. I hope he makes it to 100 too.

A lot of people do Now.

Gratz to your Dad!

Dick Van ---- is in amazing shape. He still goes to the gym! Apparently. (Which to me seems a total waste of time and energy when you have a garden that always needs tending and a house that needs maintenance.)

Anyway by the looks of him 100 is the new 70.

Apparently.

My Dad is not quite as chipper looking as DVD but he's all there mentally, still drives everywhere, and as he lives in the piney south jersey woods that's a lot of daily driving around.

His house is 7 miles from the nearest store of any kind.

I moved up There to help him but he doesn't want my help.
