Of the roundly criticized accent he adopted for Mary Poppins after working with an Irish accent coach, Van ---- has observed it should properly be traced to "a little shire in the north [of England]where most of the people were from Ohio." Terrific showman.

Gratz to your Dad!

Dick Van ---- is in amazing shape. He still goes to the gym! Apparently. (Which to me seems a total waste of time and energy when you have a garden that always needs tending and a house that needs maintenance.)

Anyway by the looks of him 100 is the new 70.

Apparently.

My Dad is not quite as chipper looking as DVD but he's all there mentally, still drives everywhere, and as he lives in the piney south jersey woods that's a lot of daily driving around.

His house is 7 miles from the nearest store of any kind.

I moved up There to help him but he doesn't want my help.

"The beloved actor credits his remarkable longevity to his positive outlook and never getting angry."

This is a true skill.
Most people aren't able to control their emotions like that.
And rather than bend, a lot of people snap.
Nullifidian comes to mind. Something... happened.

He got old and lost a step I'd imagine.

Basically, miserable people don't want to live longer, so they get their wish.

Comedy icon Dick van ---- celebrates turning 100: "I still try to dance"

OK, Dick Van Dγke is a fav actor of mine. Since the days of the Dick Van Dγke show, back in the day.

I applaud him for that.

But this recent stuff that pops up on the search engines seems to be just Hollywood phlegm.

So sad for such a great person.
