ICE Out for Good vigils and rallies are being tracked online by Indivisible, the group behind the No Kings protests

If you are a veteran, this kind of visible presence at anti-ICE protests is really valuable. These clowns all want to play dress-up soldier, so actual soldiers mocking them to their faces is devastating.

Wow, even Alaskans are organizing protests.

AI snapshot:

"By mid-2025, data indicated that 33 people had been arrested by ICE in the state, with 23 deported or scheduled for deportation."

My local Protest is at 10 this AM.

I'm interested to see if Hispanics show up, though I wouldn't advise it.

The largest and ongoing construction project here for the last few years is the World Equestrian Center, with Arenas, Stables, Hotels, Shopping mall, RV Park, and animal medical facilities.

I would guess 80 plus percent of employees are Hispanic, and the place would shut down were ICE to invade.

Happy Protesting, ya'll!

Pres Trump's deployment of ICE into neighborhoods is not for the safety of the people in those neighborhoods.

It is looking more and more like an intentional incendiary tactic to create protests.

So then the question becomes ... why is Pres Trump's end game?

Hey Corky use your car at the protest.

Here in Ventura California there were three different protest (each with about fifty people or less) within fifteen miles of where I lives. That blows me away. I don't know how this plays in Texas or Florida, but here in the Golden State most people are appalled by the current behavior of "our" Federal Government.

You know you have struck a nerve among the most abusive and insecure MAGAts when they quickly respond to your post with a funny flag. Derision and lies. What else do they have left?

#7 | Posted by moder8 at 2026-01-10 02:41 PM | Flag: Nothing and this tactic works against trolls. The "Funny" flag draws more attention to the issue without ridiculing it.

Ms. Good didn't get killed for having or driving a car.

She was killed because she was "disrespectful".

#7 Actually, I would like to thank our "friends" on the right for flagging comments Funny.

It makes the post that much more visible in the thread, and it helps promote it to the Recently Flagged section of the Retort.

Consequently, more people will see it and be interested in reading it, regardless of how it is flagged.

And speaking of the Recently Flagged section, it seems that the Funny section consists of posts from people from both sides of the aisle.

But have you noticed that our "friends" on the right never seem to have one of their posts in the Newsworthy section?

I report, you decide.

That's actually Rudy and Donald on an also actual Date Night.

SO, yeah.... imagine if you will, FF as as the senior RuPaul. (if you dare!)

apropos of nothing, this person was the model for a character, Jimmy Vulsa i think it was... in the Christopher Moore book, "Noir".

www.malindalo.com

Which is a pretty funny book; after a day of news like ours has become, "normal" in an evil sort of way... Moore's comic novels at least one place where I do laugh out loud reading book.

btw, asking for a friend... do people still read books?

Just finished "Stiff" by Mary Roach.

And my oldest granddaughter is a crazy avid reader.

#20 | Posted by LegallyYourDead at 2026-01-11 08:11 PM | Reply

Finished Death in a Pot by Morton Satin, The Day Lincoln was Shot by Jim Bishop, and I just re-read The Tragedy of Dr. Faustus by Christopher Marlowe.

Reading the excellent works of Christopher Marlowe and Ben Jonson, you see how much greater William Shakespeare was, because those two were brilliant in their own right.

The Difference:

The Immortal Bard, who did not attend university like Christopher Marlowe, synthesized history with current events, used ciphers and double-entendres in his writing, invented names (e.g. 'Abigail'), and crafted lines still quoted today. Very few people, if any, quote Christopher Marlowe or Ben Jonson (who also did not receive higher formal education).

There are more facets to this analysis, but this is a political blog, so I'll exeunt stage LEFT (of course).

Love these protestors, old white, ugly woman who have no life. They are always smiling at each other in photos because that is their only thing they have to do. Very sad. You would think they would do something constructive like volunteer at a homeless shelter or a food pantry but no, everyday they look to where the next protest is, misspell another sign and head out to protest something they have no idea what they are protesting.

#21 Coriolanus, are you familiar with the Lute composer Robert Johnson?

He wrote the Original music for the Globe theater and is the only Original Composer for Shakespeare whose works have Survived.

Great Composer. My Favorite of the
Elizabethan's.

He wrote some Lute solos that are accessible to both Guitar and Keyboard if you play.

Simple but Profound Music with dancing Melancholy and long chains of Suspensions.

Bitchin'
