Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News
Monday, February 16, 2026

Blount County officials have arrested and charged Franc Maloney, a foreign national from Canada, with multiple counts of felony voter fraud. District Attorney Pamela Casey announced that a grand jury indicted Maloney for unlawfully voting in nine state and federal elections, despite not being a U.S. citizen. The elections in question date back to 2017 and include the November 2024 general election and the March 2024 Republican primary election, among others.

Casey stated, "Yesterday, a Blount County grand jury found probable cause that Franc Maloney unlawfully voted in 9, 9 state and federal elections despite not being a U.S. citizen and they returned an indictment of 4 counts of felony fraud."

...

"This case shows a foreign national was able to obtain a driver's license, social security number, register to vote, and cast ballots without the system flagging it. That should not happen in our country," said Casey.

Yet, Pres Trump seems to be targeting Democrats.

Why?

"This case shows a foreign national was able to obtain a driver's license, social security number, register to vote, and cast ballots without the system flagging it."

Foreign nationals are allowed to obtain drivers licenses, and social security numbers. So the first part of the complaint is bogus.

As for the second part: once again, it's a single fraudulent vote, and once again, the perp is caught right after voting in a Presidential election.

States still average about one vote fraud conviction per year.

At the time of his arrest, Maloney was already out on bond for an unrelated case involving 187 counts of child pornography and four counts of dissemination of child pornography.

No wonder he latched onto the GOP.

- illegally processed in Georgia.

There were, as I recall, 2 Supervisors rather than 3, which makes it an Admin Error, not "Illegal".

Trump Cultists are grabbing at straws.

The false presumption is all fraud gets uncovered.

"The false presumption is all fraud gets uncovered."

You're right; it can't be found 100% of the time.

But any honest analysis will prove it's a ridiculous ROI, very difficult to execute, never at scale, and in 90+% of the elections, already moot.

Meanwhile, Trump and the Republicans plan to suppress more votes this November than all the convictions on the 25+ yr Heritage Foundation website.

#14. It can affect the outcome of a very close election.

Among today's false prophets are the election deniers who indulge this president's obsession with overturning the 2020 election. Hear me when I say this " they tell a lie so absurd, and therefore so debasing to tell, that the act of telling it proves the teller's total and humiliating submission."

I was not aware non citizens can get social security numbers.

Thanks for sharing.

Anyone drawing a salary needs one or an EID. Even the "undocumented." If you're hear legally you are eligible to take social security, but for many "undocumented" they pay in with no hope of getting credit or withdrawing SS. They help keep it solvent.

not EID. That's our company's nomenclature. Mea culpa.
