Judge says Trump Can't Add his Name to Kennedy Center
A federal judge on Friday blocked the Kennedy Center from temporarily closing its doors for a yearslong renovation and said its board violated the law when it added President Donald Trump's name to the historic performing arts venue.

Ah... just one more reason Trump Hates Judges!
They always bring up this, 'Law' stuff. It's like SO ----!
The whole Crime Family hates it... well, Jared sort of enjoys it, according to BJ.

I will sell a Trump autographed copy to any Trumpers for only 20^H^H 200 bucks.

What a petulant baby. Trump will not have the government pay for renovations if he does not get to have his name on it.

The ruling is kind of interesting. It gives them 14 days to get Lewzer's name off the facade and all other signage and materials. Pointed out that it took just a day to put it up after the board renamed it.
It also asks why the site figures prominently in the 250th celebrations if it is such a hazard to the public that it needs to be closed for 2 years.
It also says the board can't decide that certain trustees don't get to vote on Center matters, what with them having been appointed by Congress.

It was speculated from the start that Trump would find a way to simply raze the Kennedy Center.
Trump's mental reaction to his name being dropped is going to be dark and squirming.

Oh....Why would Trump want to raze the Trump/ Kennedy Center?
So that the new structure would simply be the Trump Center.

He should be ordered to pay for repairing any damage done to the building by affixing his name to it.

I glanced at the legal ruling and it makes sense. The center's name was created by Congress and Kennedy was chosen because he was recently assassinated. So, it follows that a name change would have to come from Congress.

As was the entire building.

I wonder how this came about? Did Lewzer not make any basic legal checks? Did he just not care? Did he think he could just override Congress?

With a razor thin majority in the House, a 50-50 split (VP tie break vote in the Senate) and a close WH win on 2020 this is what Democrats tried to do:
Nuke the filibuster Add 4+ rubber stamp leftists to SCOTUS grant statehood to Puerto Rico and DC (a fricking city) in order to add 4 New Democrat Senators.
They were stopped by 2 Senators - Manchin and Sinema, both of whom are no longer senators.
That type of naked power grab would destroy our structure as we know it. And they are STILL advocating for all of it.
Right now, the only impediment is Fetterman. That's it. So, if Dems have a razor thin majority in the House, the WH in a tight election and a 51/49 Senate majority, they will do what they tried to do in 2021.
Trump trying to Rename the Kennedy Center is pure trash but it's nothing compared to what Dems will do with the most razor thin levers of democratic power.

Unfounded?
I laid out exactly what they tried to do but were thwarted by Manchin and Sinema, both of whom are gone.
Which of these won't they go after if they get control, no matter how slim, of Congress and the WH:

Beliefs based on lies are essentially unfounded.

Not sure why you even brought this issue up. It's just more agitprop.

They pushed for all of that and still are. Manchin Sinema were openly opposed to it and became public enemies on the left. Hell a small group of lefties followed Sinema into a public restroom and filmed her emptying her bladder because they were pissed off she would t sign on.

#24 bell boi croaks out, "...grant statehood to Puerto Rico and DC (a fricking city)..."
Only two U.S. states have smaller populations than the District of Columbia: Wyoming and Vermont. Based on recent U.S. Census Bureau population estimates, D.C. has approximately (690,000) residents, putting it right in the middle between the least populous states and the next most populous, Alaska.States with a smaller population than D.C. include:Wyoming: ~588,000 residentsVermont: ~645,000 residents

Or do you prefer the candidates on the right side, who'll just continue the same Trumpy things, even cover-up his crimes.
'Tis amazing that there are those who find this decision very, very difficult

It's tough to be a Trumpublican these daze when one's Dear Leader is a criminal con artist and a traitor (not to mention rapist and Pedo Friend, because apparently that's also acceptable).
Of course, there ARE Republicans with whom we can disagree on nearly everything, like MTG, Bloody Bill Krystol, Rick Wilson, Mother Tucker... but they, at least, are patriots in their own way.

"Why shouldn't the 690,000 US citizens who live in the District of Columbia have their voices represented, too?"
Because in The Divided States of America republicans will never allow it. They believe that representative will be a democrat.
And they cannot and will not ever allow even the possibility of that!
