More: "Donald Trump isn't just coming after me because of my mean tweets," Mr. Newsom said in the video. "He's coming after me because I am considering running for president." He added, "To get me, he's coming after my wife."
Mr. Newsom, a Democrat, described the investigation as a fishing expedition in which federal agents had started sifting through "years and years of random documents" and knocking on the doors of family friends and associates of the Newsoms to try to find evidence of an unspecified crime.

The investigation of into his wife's dealing started under the Biden Administration.
A person familiar with the matter confirmed that multiple federal investigations were underway related to the governor, including one looking at his wife's finances. But the person disputed Mr. Newsom's assertion that the investigations were politically motivated, and said they had been initiated by federal law enforcement officials in California, not launched by officials in Washington. Politico has broken the story that Newsom put his chief of staff on leave due to a criminal investigation A YEAR AGO! Never disclosed it.
She then resigned and Newsom - knowing the accusations and federal investigation instigated under the Biden Administration - issued this statement: "I greatly appreciate Dana's counsel and her service to the state and the people of California over the last two years. Her insight, tenacity and big heart will be missed."
He knew and he covered it up via glowing statement.
Now we are learning that his chief of staff's alleged co-conspirators have entered plea agreements.
One of those co-conspirators was the chief of staff to Xavier Becerra, former California Attorney General and former U.S. Secretary of Health and Human Services. It was apparently Becerra's campaign account where $225k was stolen.
The drip drip drip of information today means there is a lot more coming.

Trump has weaponized the DOJ against thieves and grifters, enemies of the taxpayer. Big change from Obama and Biden's Autopen that only went after political enemies.
