It's fair to take it from the rich to the extent they took it from others.
There are several billion dollars that are screaming to be clawed back from the Trump family, for instance.

"the rich"
roughly defined by most here as anyone who has more money than themselves
but it's not about envy...........LOL

I knew a man a long time ago who got paid twice, double what he legally earned. Out of greed or stupidity or both he kept the money, a few hundred dollars. The "theft" was discovered, and he blew his brains out out of shame.
If Donald Trump had a sense of shame, he'd have been dead many decades ago.

" their consequence? probably don't get invited to all the parties."
Not a risk you're willing to take, right?

" that's it. no safety issues."
Just business issues?

-Ever wonder why it's taken so long for Trump to be correctly identified as being crazy?
by whom?
it didn't take me nor you long to diagnose him as such.
and it's the same folks who still can't identify him as such.
IOW, either you figured it out immediately or.....never.
or did you just admit you didn't really think he was this way until more recently?

What in the actual hell is a "moral ghetto"?

And.....Why can't they?
EBERLY, on the trembling verge of epiphany.

it's a term made up about an hour ago or so in an effort to give Zed mouth to mouth.

I prefer the term "behavioral sink".
When there is a willful retreat from the norms and benefits oc civilization, that's what you get.
Anyone remember when religous conservatism stifled the Islamic renaissance?
Youngsters.

Is this a "if a tree falls in a forest and no one hears it" sort of thing?

I live in a middle class neighborhood. The neighbors are friendly and helpful. We watch out for one another. Does that make it a moral ghetto?

-Not a risk you're willing to take, right?
man, you're quite obsessed with my well-being, aren't you?
I don't do business locally. I have a very very specialized niche. nobody in my neighborhood matters to me in a business sense.
and I'm friends with whom I want to be friends with.
And none of that is the issue.
My safety is not in jeopardy. nor are the people who are comfortable being liberal democrats in my neighborhood.
Deep down you know it's true.
I don't know what kind of contract you guys signed with Zed to protect him but he must have some dirt on you guys or something.

been fun....for me.
I love how corky accuses me of making it personal when zed mentioned his neighborhood has hundreds of times, and danforth is obsessed with my neighborhood and community and of course...corky drags my wife into it.
but I made it personal.
got it.
my offer still stands......I'll leave zed alone.....but it comes with a condition.
see you all later.......

And this is why it seems you have sand in your ears.
From AI: A moral ghetto is an isolated social or intellectual environment where people only interact with others who share the exact same values, beliefs, or moral codes, shutting out outside perspectives.

- give Zed mouth to mouth.
Well, Eberly... this is of course between consenting adults, but do be sure that Zed consents!

And deep down you know your life would change if you publicly took a knee the next time the Star-Spangled Banner is played.
