I wonder sometimes based on how people post that some of our California posters don't fit in #2 oftentimes.

On topic........It's hard for a governor of a huge state like CA to completely have their hands clean......but nothing is going to come of it......as it's already been pointed out, this is all about the mid-terms.

Folks with what is regarded as a middle class income but live in a very high cost of living area.

your definition of "afford it" and mine might differ based on the different regions we live in and what we're accustomed to.

That's my point.

The income required to live in San Jose to afford a $10K mortgage along with the high cost of living there (assuming cars, kids, etc....) should be at least $35K a month. Once a mortgage gets over 25% of the gross income.....doesn't work, IMO.

Hell no. Banks allow debt to be 40%+ of monthly income.

As far as defaults go they are managing it better that they did prior to 2008. Before they ignored credit scores and didn't verify income.

But think west coast people tolerate a higher debt to income ratio.

Like you said ... .supply and demand. People want to be there.

But it's hard. Hard to get by which I think leads to a ------ attitudes towards capitalism.

Absolutely true. It's one of the few true epicenters of capitalism in this country....along with NYC, and some other extremely expensive places to live.

but it also explains why you and Donner and speak appear so jaded and victimized by that very "unfettered capitalism" and why your attitude towards any policy that benefits the wealthy is what it is.

A wealthy lifestyle is massively out of reach for so many Californians and I think it really pisses you off.

It's not so out of reach for me where I live.

I was going to include Florida in that because there are certainly some enclaves in Florida that mirror Southern California and it plays out because you're just as equally frustrated, angry and hostile.

And why? Because the injustice hits close to home.

It's not an attack on you. It's a credit to the economic success and acknowledging the unfortunate consequences of that success.........huge examples of injustice in your neighborhoods.

And that it takes an enormous income to live well in your parts the country.

He constantly refers to HIS environment. His dangerous state and neighborhood. It's a major factor of his anger, hostility and fear he displays here every day and he says exactly that in defense of those displays of emotions.

You're simply no different than him. Your environment is a major factor in your hostility and anger you display here constantly.

You personally witness the economic injustice you talk about here all the time. You live it, you experience it.

That also means I have to admit that my environment contributes to my lack of anger, fear, hostility, etc you all get so pissed about that I don't display. Constant accusations of sand in my ears, bubble boy, etc....all that stuff.
