WASHINGTON " President Donald Trump said Thursday that the Pentagon will no longer livestream the firing squad execution of Fort Hood shooter Nidal Malik Hasan, after the announcement faced bipartisan criticism and Vice President JD Vance said he wouldn't watch it. Trump said on social media that publicly airing the execution "might have been a strong deterrent for the World to witness how America deals with Terrorists and SCUM like Hasan." But, he continued, "many very good and well meaning people would rather not watch him die, through streaming, or through any other visual device."

What testing were the 2022 lock upgrades given prior to installation? It appears to be a grift, not actually protective.

To be approved for educational facilities, door hardware must pass evaluations managed by independent organizations like the American National Standards Institute (ANSI), the Builders Hardware Manufacturers Association (BHMA), and Underwriters Laboratories (UL).

Locks must resist prolonged, violent attempts to breach the door.
The Forced Entry Test: Mechanical locks are subjected to concentrated physical attacks using crowbars, chisels, hammers, and screwdrivers. To pass Grade 1 certification, the lock mechanism must withstand these manual structural attacks for a specified duration without allowing the door to open.
Impact Testing (Ram & Pendulum): Systems are hit with high-energy impacts. Testing rigs drop heavy, weighted pendulums or rams directly against the lock chassis and the outside lever handle to ensure the internal latch bolts do not snap or retract under sudden, massive force.
Torque and Overloading: Testing machinery applies extreme rotational force (torque) to the outside lever handle. Grade 1 locks are engineered so that if an intruder applies excessive torque, the lever will slip or breakaway cleanly without retracting the internal latch bolt, keeping the door securely locked.

Because school doors experience constant use from hundreds of students daily, the internal mechanics are tested for long-term wear and tear.
The 1 Million Cycle Test: To achieve an ANSI/BHMA Grade 1 rating (the highest standard required for schools), a lockset must successfully lock, unlock, latch, and unlatch at least 1,000,000 times without mechanical failure.
Abuse Testing: Linear and structural force is applied to the handles while they are being cycled to simulate students hanging on the levers or slamming the doors.

For smart locks, wireless trims, and Electronic Access Control (EAC) systems, additional digital and environmental tests apply:
Electrostatic Discharge (ESD): Locks are shocked with high-voltage static electricity to ensure an intruder cannot short-circuit the electronics or force the door to unlock using a handheld stun device.
Power Failure Mode: Systems are tested to ensure that if campus power or networks go completely dark, the locks default to their designated safety state (typically Fail-Secure on the outside to keep intruders out, but always Fail-Safe on the inside so occupants can exit).
