House Speaker Mike Johnson reiterated Sunday that any attempt by Democrats to sub in a new candidate in place of President Joe Biden is likely to be met by legal challenges.

Speaking on ABC's "This Week," Johnson said, "Every state has its own system, and in some of these, it's not possible to simply just switch out a candidate."

Wrong. Go ---- yourself, you little bitch.

#2 | Posted by LegallyYourDead at 2024-07-21 01:32 PM

It might be that is not possible to sub out a candidate AFTER THEY GET NOMINATED. But Biden hasn't been nominated yet. Trying to refuse to allow a duly seated nominee is much more likely to be thrown out.

Has the Supreme Court weighed in?

They were seated to crown Trump.

Yeah, it turns out that Mikey is prolly just mouthing off....

"Expect some GOP legal challenges to taking Biden off the ballot.
But they're longshots.

Speaker Mike Johnson teased possible efforts to prevent Democrats from taking Biden off the ballot earlier Sunday.

Don't believe the hype:

Republicans are unlikely to gain traction in legal efforts to prevent Democrats from taking President Joe Biden off the ballot."

@#5 ... Republicans are unlikely to gain traction ...

Do they need to succeed, or just divert attention and delay?

#6 | Posted by LampLighter at 2024-07-21 04:14 PM

You know you've made the best choice to beat republicans when republicans are suing you for it.

Dem Party may think they and donors get to vary carte blanche the rules of election but they may find out differently. Our leaders are not appointed.

Supreme Court refused to rule post 2020 on states that counter manded their own Constitution by handing out mail in ballots that were unConstitutional.

Biden needs to resign now and save America.

Mail-in ballots aren't unconstitutional. Deal with it.

So the pathetic and disgonest Republicans think they cann demand that Biden stay in the race. I really want to see those fools try ro sell that to their stupid base. So let me get this straight; they claim they don't want Biden to be President but now they are demanding that he run for President lor resign and make Kamala Harris Presidenr. Clue for Reppublicans: you don't get to be l m pick the Democratic nominee.

#10 | Posted by danni at 2024-07-22 05:50 AM

Now thatutter fool Robson is saying Kamala Harris needs to become preident now to "save the nation." It is hilarious when Republicans get caucht by their own attempts to manipulate our system of government. I teturn to my previous idea( Biden needs to use his new found immunity and send some Republicans to Guantanamo as threats to national security.

Typical Republicans. Always sticking their collective noses where they don't belong. Mind your own business Speaker Johnson.

#12 | Posted by LauraMohr at 2024-07-22 06:10 AM

Mike Johnson reeks authenticity. He's definitely an authentic simple-minded goober

#13 | Posted by Doc_Sarvis at 2024-07-22 06:39 AM

All part of the GOP's usual schtick,
"Do anything--even cheating--to win"...

Afraid of a little more challenge?

Squeaker of the House can eat a bag of d's.

Id like to see both parties and media be required to support claims and actions under rules of evidence where failure or falsehoods results in perjury or financial penalties. No more lack of accountability.

Whoever the elites pick better win in November

#17 | Posted by truthhurts at 2024-07-22 07:19 PM

FEC never consulted or approved the Democrat and the current Biden Harris outside election law election manipulations. Dems are winging what isnt wingable.

Calm down, ROBSON. Trump is a god after all. He can handle Kamala. I mean, she's not even white.

I would wager that if my metacarpi and proximal phalanges ever had the opportunity for a swift, close encounter with Mikey's eminently smashable mandible he would soon be performing involuntary snow-angels on the hardwood, flat out and eyelids a-flutter, just like a blind lizard drinking.

#22 | Posted by NerfHerder at 2024-07-22 07:40 PM

Why not? Give Dems a taste of their own medicine.

"Id like to see both parties and media be required to support claims and actions under rules of evidence where failure or falsehoods results in perjury or financial penalties."

What are you counting as "media" here? Technically, you're part of the media when you post comments online.

"Why not? Give Dems a taste of their own medicine."

An eye for an eye makes the world blind. I've called out anti-Trumpers many times for wanting to behave like what they purport to loathe. It's true that many who wanted to impeach Trump even before he was sworn in saw themselves giving Reps a taste of their own medicine for what they did to Clinton, just like many who went after Clinton did so because of what was done to Nixon, regardless of the merits of the case.

If you think the case has merits then say so, but comments like the above usually come from partisan asshats.

#25 | Posted by sentinel at 2024-07-22 08:32 PM

I get that two wrongs don't make a right. But if Dems aren't forced to play by their own rules they will keep doing what they've been doing. Politics isn't a suicide pact.

#26 | Posted by BellRinger at 2024-07-22 08:47 PM

This is hilarious. I wonder if Mike Johnson knows he can't do squat.

The Democrats haven't nominated anyone yet.

Biden has every right to release his delegates and endorse Harris. It happens every time a candidate has won primaries but drops out.

Just got done listening to JD Vance talk on his own. Talk about a poor public speaker!

It was embarrassing and awkward. FOX News cut away.

#28 | Posted by horstngraben at 2024-07-22 09:00 PM

Talk about a poor public speaker!

He's objectively terrible. It's hilarious.

#29 | Posted by REDIAL at 2024-07-22 09:02 PM

The Speaker of the House is a sniveling little wormy puke that also doubles as an American Christian Taliban of the worst sort. He can go efff himself on this issue. So, either the right wing wishes to 'not' have Biden as POTUS or they do? I'm confused here as all they do is go on and on about how old and senile he is and not fit for the job and so then they get their wish fulfilled as he he drops out and their lead dick in congress tosses a fit. Oh, Biden has to stay in to make it easy for the giant POS that radiated orange ooze!

#30 | Posted by Wildman62 at 2024-07-22 09:53 PM

The bigger question is who is going to be Harris' VP?

#31 | Posted by Wildman62 at 2024-07-22 09:59 PM

He's objectively terrible. It's hilarious.

Ha! Nicely done!

#32 | Posted by YAV at 2024-07-22 10:07 PM

GOP: BIDEN IS TOO OLD! HE MUST DROP OUT!

Biden: I am stepping down.

GOP: WHAT? NO! WAIT!

#33 | Posted by Nixon at 2024-07-23 09:44 AM

"The bigger question is who is going to be Harris' VP?"

Mark Edward Kelly is an American politician, former astronaut, and United States Navy captain who has been the junior United States senator from Arizona since 2020.

A hero, and astronaut, 60 years old. Served his country with distinction.

"looks the part"/this line is humor.

You lost all ability to complain about that sort of thing when you joined the cult of a con man who tried to overthrow american democracy when he lost an election.
