Of course, he is.

Well, maybe he won't. For a price.

Europe will thank them later.

The US is unreliable as a partner. This way the European Nations can build up their own Military forces and become free agents, not Vassals of US administrations that flip flop every change of regime.

NATO is a Dinosaur.

Trump is stupid but even stupidity is better than willfully bad policy and NATO countries being Vassals of the US is bad policy. NATO is a stupid Tripwire for Nuclear War.

Europe is at bottom, responsible for their own defense.

They can Afford it.

It's also better for everyone if the US becomes weaker and less Overbearing.

Germany could take Up the Slack.

Can they be Trusted not to "Master Race" Everyone Again?

That's the Question?... Skippy.

Putin's rank bitch is just following orders from his superiors in Moscow.

O, we're going to show how STRONG we are by being WEAKER, especially to our freinds close to Russia, that's it?

Kind of like in Harry Potter movie when Ron read harry's tea leaves and said "you're going to SUFFER, but you'll be HAPPY about it..."

Between his felony convictions and this development, King Dotard II should probably forget about any visit to a NATO country. Or Canada. Or Mexico. Or a lot of countries in Central and South America. As for Marco, our l'il SoS, his wife is about to be told that he now doubts he will earn enough FF points to fly her from DC back to Miami. She will have to take the train...

Who on the Trumper side is gonna argue that this isn't exactly what Putin wants?

This move is going to incentive Europe to not only rely less on the US for defense but also US weapon systems and therefore, to build their own. This will be a financial blow to America's MIC.

"NATO is a Dinosaur."

Not the insult you think it is.

Without outside interference (from outside the Earth) the Dinosaurs would still be ruling the Earth.

I see EFFORT TRAITOR is on her lipping off again. The person has burns all over his knees for servicing Vlad the Mass Murderer and I can see he is also a TRumpanzee traitor. The Europeans will take care of themselves, but do not think pulling these troops out of Europe is going to save any money as we will be back soon enough to fight the Russian and their lackeys.

Actually, for me, the scariest headline of the day.

"Who on the Trumper side is gonna argue that this isn't exactly what Putin wants?"

Did you read the comments at the bottom of the article?

The worst thing that could happen to Russia is that European countries increase their defense spending and begin re-arming. It's already happening. Poland is poised to become the strongest military power in western Europe. Between them, the Scandanavian countries already have the ability to hold the entire commie western flank at risk. The US could never do that on its own, even if it wasn't directing the bulk of its resources on the Pacific.

It's not, or at least it shouldn't be a strong US that Russia fears, it should be a strong Europe. And many European countries still remember the threat of the commie bootheel.

The north remembers!

"The Europeans will take care of themselves, but do not think pulling these troops out of Europe is going to save any money as we will be back soon enough to fight the Russian and their lackeys."

More likely, the troops would be repositioned to better support a fight in the Pacific. I'm a Europe guy, so I'm not super smart on the China problem set, but my understanding is there isn't a Polish or Finnish or Norwegian equivalent in that theater. It's the US, Australia, and maybe some support from Korea or Japan.
