10 Antifa arrested for attack on ICE

State and federal officials announced on Monday that 10 people were arrested for engaging in a "planned ambush" on an ICE detention facility in Texas over the Fourth of July holiday. The individuals were charged with attempted murder of a federal officer, according to court records. The incident occurred at the Prairieland Detention Facility in Alvarado, Texas, on Friday, according to Nancy Larson, the U.S. attorney for the Northern District of Texas. At approximately 10:37 p.m., 10 to 12 individuals dressed in black, military-style clothing began shooting fireworks and engaging in acts of vandalism at the facility, Larson said during a press conference.

This deadly violence is the result Democrats and their lefty allies over the top and out of control rhetoric.

@#3 ... either. ..

An oops?

Long haul to 69, but we can give it a shot.

#5 | Posted by REDIAL at 2025-07-09 10:07 PM

Yeah the whole "ICE instead of law enforcement" thing concerns me.

While i am not saying that these charges my not be justified, I am saying that ICE seems to be able to go beyond the legal police guidelines in their interactions with people. Maybe even to the point of provoking violence instead of quelling it.

Inside ICE's superpowers

... The images of masked, heavily armed immigration agents snatching people off the streets and taking them away in unmarked cars have shocked many Americans " and led to a simple question: Is all of this legal?

- - - It is -- at least for now.

Why it matters: Since Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) was created after the 9/11 attacks, its agents have operated with vastly more enforcement power, less transparency and fewer guardrails than local police. ...

It's not been determined that the lone gunman in the BBC article.

I did read from a different source earlier today that when law enforcement went into the homes of those 10 arrested they discovered they are Antofagasta members. I'll try to find it.

No way ABC would report that.

#7 | Posted by BellRinger at 2025-07-09 10:08 PM

Antofagasta = Antifa.

Auto correct comes up with bizarre corrections.

#8 | Posted by BellRinger at 2025-07-09 10:09 PM

@#6

And helps me to understand why Pres Trump bill wants to increase ICE's budget but not other Federal law enforcement agencies to the same extent.

Pres Trump seems to want to create his militia to keep citizens under control.

#9 | Posted by LampLighter at 2025-07-09 10:09 PM

Redial,

I can't find it therefore I apologize for putting that in the headline.

@#7 ... It's not been determined that the lone gunman in the BBC article. ...

Not sure what your current alias is trying to say.

But, I'll go with...

I have been listening to BBC news for decades, even before the Internet occurred, in the 19060's, 70' and 80's via shortwave radio.

The BBC reporting is very good to excellent, imo.

That aside.

Border Report Live: Agents shoot, kill gunman at Border Patrol facility
fox2now.com

... Agents shot and killed a 27-year-old man who opened fire at a U.S. Border Patrol facility on Monday in McAllen, Texas.

The shooting happened shortly before 6 a.m. at the Rio Grande Valley Border Patrol Sector Annex, which is connected to McAllen International Aiport. ...

So, similar if not quite identical, to the BBC reporting.

Now, if I may ask, what was your current alias trying to say in the #7 quote I cited?

thx.

#13 | Posted by LampLighter at 2025-07-09 10:23 PM

#11. I was addressing two Redial questions in the same post. I wasn't claiming the gunman in the BBC article is Antifa.

I did claim the 10 who were arrested are Antifa because I read it somewhere today. When Redial asked for substantiation I wasn't able to find it so I apologized for using Antifa in my headline.

#14 | Posted by BellRinger at 2025-07-09 10:41 PM

Sorry I meant the response to be to #13, not #11.

@#20 ... I'd edit the headline and remove Antifa if I were able to. ...

I still remain curious ... why did your current alias alter the headline of the article it posted to include something it now says it it unable to substantiate?

Why?

Once again, as it has stated in the past... going for the number of replies, i.e., trolling?

" I still remain curious ... why did your current alias alter the headline of the article it posted to include something it now says it it unable to substantiate?"

Already answered. I re@d it early in the day and now can't find the source. So I backed off and would drop it from the headline if I could because I can't substantiate it.

www.foxnews.com Fox news shows a fight facism flag in a unlabelled photo amongst article about group of 10 being arrested "The Justice Department on Monday named 10 individuals charged with shooting a police officer in the neck and opening fire on other correctional officers outside the Prairieland Detention Center in Alvarado, Texas, on the Fourth of July. The group, donning all black, allegedly first began shooting fireworks at the facility, which is being used by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to hold people related to immigration violations or awaiting deportation. #16 | POSTED BY YAV

No, they are known associates with the North Texas branch of Antifa.

Its strange to try to obfuscate these attackers, Antifa associates have been attacking ICE facilities for the last decade. Antifa is a loose collection of cells, with no hierarchy.

What does substantiate mean to you? The whole point of the organization is to obfuscate its organization.

I looked at that website, and I searched for antifa on it.

The search came up empty.

So, if I may ask, who or what is the "their" your current trolling alias' comment refers to?

ICE needs to be reigned in. They are far worse than a scourge. They are a terrorist organization.

MAGA Amygdala sees anything negative about fascism and screams "ANTIFA!"
They are children with a serious lack of control or critical thinking.
For instance, see the post in #27 as a response to a legitimate question. It only amplifies and supports LampLighter's point.
Something that particular poster manages to do a lot with its posts.

Democrat: "We shot fireworks at ICE because they are acting like Hitler's SS."

Posts the same guy who INSISTS we call the Kavanaugh non-attempt an "assassination attempt", but refuses to say the same about folks who were LITERALLY chanting "Hang Mike Pence".
