In a tense hearing in Atlanta Tuesday, a key witness refused to confirm details about the romantic relationship between Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis and the special prosecutor she hired to lead her criminal case against Donald Trump.

"Lawyers for Trump and his co-defendants had signaled that Bradley would testify that Willis and Wade became romantically involved before Willis hired him. If Bradley had testified to that, it would have strengthened the bid to disqualify the prosecutors and would have opened Willis and Wade up to accusations that they lied to the judge.

Bradley, however, said he could not recall when he learned of the romantic relationship between Willis and Wade, and he claimed to have had only a single conversation about the relationship with Wade.

In the hearing, Ashleigh Merchant, a lawyer for one of Trump's co-defendants, read text messages Bradley sent her saying the prosecutors' relationship began before Wade joined Willis' team. But Bradley " who was forced to take the stand due to a subpoena and acknowledged that he didn't want to be testifying " wouldn't stand by his text messages.

Instead, he insisted that he was merely speculating in those texts. And he said he had no memory of ever knowing when exactly they struck up a romance."

.

Wow, first Smirnov, now this. Republicans are just having no luck at all with actual witness testimony that doesn't fit their narratives.

... a key witness refused to confirm details ...

Oh, this ain't good.

Wasn't this the testimony that would take DA Willis down?

The Republican Establishment has done a fantastic job of turning Trump's trail into an indictment against the DA.

Here I thought his testimony would be more like...

Call - I Don't Wanna (1987)
www.youtube.com

Lyrics excerpt...

genius.com

...
I ain't here to hold you when you cry
I ain't here to hold your shaky hand
I ain't here to look you in the eye
Or beg for you to understand
I ain't gonna walk you thru your dreams
Walk you thru this life that we all know
I ain't here to listen while you speak
I ain't here to heal your broken soul
Am I here at all?

I ain't here to tell you what you need
I ain't gonna take a noble stand
I ain't here to look you in the eye
Or beg for you to understand
I can only tell you what I've seen
I can only tell you how it felt
When my heart was crushed so bad inside
Till I felt the hatred slowly melt
I don't wanna

I ain't gonna watch your every move
I ain't gonna dog your every step
I ain't here to shape your every mood
I ain't here to keep your secrets kept
Oh, but if I held you in my arms
If I could squeeze you till we cry
I don't wanna lose this love I feel
I don't wanna lose this fight tonight
I ain't gonna
...

Woof, a powerful song, with the vocal presentation to back that up.

... and now that tactic appears to be backfiring on them.

Big time.

So, what else they got?

Just another L for Lewzer.

My god, they grasp at the worst straws I've ever seen. The primary tactic is to delay. Not win. Delay.

Don't these attorneys do their due diligence?

If Repubs weren't such sycophantic cultists for Trump doing their best to appease Dear Leader by deflecting for all his crimes, the wouldn't have several metric tons of egg on their faces.

We effectively have a single party in the US right now because the GOP does not constitute a political party even though they're nominating candidates.

I was able to watch some of this, and the stream of tRump lawyers doing all they could to take text messages out of context, try and say that a response given was for something it wasn't, but for something else, the leading questions that the attorneys asked and answered, expecting Bradley to confirm. He'd then correct them and say "No, that answer was for X, not what you're saying it was for." He even said "You are introducing a text message of mine with an email as a single exhibit, and they aren't related. You are trying to create a linkage where it doesn't exist." (I'm paraphrasing what was said, and going from memory).

Why is it every STAR witness for the GOP turns out to be a dud?

Because they're not honest people acting in good faith.

Just ask Vlad for some help. I'm sure Russia can find someone willing to lie and claim that the relationship started earlier than they claim.

It would make sense that you would believe any of these witnesses when they say they didn't remember even when there was text and phone evidence.

- text and phone evidence.

Only according to Trump's lawyers.... many experts question the data, and it's interpretation by Trump's lawyers' investigator.

Many experts? Joy Bahar? Did you watch any of the testimony? They got lying left and right.

Watched probably 50% of it. Even quoted (paraphrased) some of what I saw. I disagree with your assessment. Fortunately there's a judge that was overly generous to tRump's rather sordid lawyers so if he finds against tRump's assertions, that should silence you.

Oh, and FP?
There was only one witness in this hearing.
At least get that right.

Delay, delay, delay. No matter what this -------- uncovers, it delays things. That's a win for team T.

It's going to be hilarious when several of these fine DEI folks are charged with the very crime they're trying to prosecute.

"Stupid liars" on full display in Atlanta!

YAV is laughable. Coudln't even watch the full proceedings but manages to provide an ignorant opinion anyways. This is the modern day liberal white! Don't shake his hand, his wrists are weak and limp....

They're arguing against phone records. The witness today was absolutely nailed and looked ridiculous.

It's blatant lying.

Trump lawyers: We have a star witness that will testify that their relationship began before he was hired.

Witness: Well, I didn't actually say that and in fact I don't know when their relationship began exactly.

Trumpturds: See! Told you. Case closed!

"Don't these attorneys do their due diligence?"
#6 | POSTED BY NIXON

Apparently not. It's a hard-and-fast rule in the legal profession for attorneys to know the answer to their question before they ask.

In short, this hearing with just one highly speculative witness was a failed fishing trip.

They learned a lesson the hard way. This time it cost them their cases.

Next time, stick to the rules. Do their own investigation. Don't rely on Donald Trump's wild imaginings for due diligence even if he is footing their bills.

Psst: ("Paying their legal bills?" LOL ~ I wonder if they skipped their due diligence on that, too. Trump doesn't pay loser. He uses and abuses them. And sometimes they lose their law license trying to please him.)

Here's a partial list of attorneys, for various reasons, including loss of license, non-payment, and irreconcilable differences, who have been victimized by Trump to the point that they can no longer justify representing him or any entity associated with him.

Lin woods. . . Rudy Giuliani . . . Sidney Powell . . . Michael Cohen . . .Joe Tacopina . . . Chad Seigel . . . Matthew DeOro . . . Draw Findling . . .Jim Trusty . . . John Rowley . . . Tim Parlatore . . . Cleta Mitchell . . . Bryan Hughes . . . John Scott . . . two attorneys from the law firm of Porter Wright & Arthur . . . the Law firm of Snell & Wilmer.

Some names you might not recognize but this is a list compiled by Forbes that I'm repeating here, just to make the point about readily available due diligence.

And yet, Trump claims he gets calls from law firms and attorneys every day begging to represent him.

Yeah, sure. ~~ You decide.

Funny how every Trump sycophant trying to manufacture outrage and/or deflect (see: Fani Willis) has failed miserably.

Even so, we are likely to have a dictator be appointed office in eight months.

SO... as it turns out, this Trump witness was speculating because he was being harassed by Trump's co-defendant's attnys to do so...

It sounded more like the lawyers for Trump's co-defendants were on a fishing trip. Asking loaded questions and such to trip up another lawyer.

"trip up another lawyer?"

LOL - Yeah, sure, fat chance. Like they can't read each other like a book.

EPIC FAILURE! ~ Fani Willis stays on the job.
