My God, this article and the interview with Butler are really something. No wonder Trump is trying to deal the MAL trial until after the election:

Collins: Who had access to the rooms where the documents were kept?

Butler: Feasibly at night, anybody could.

Butler: I think American people have the right to know that this isn't a witch hunt ... You have the "law and order President" attacking agents and the special counsel almost on a daily basis when these people took an oath to follow the laws. I don't think that's right.

He was about to be outed anyway, so he decided to take matters into his own hands. I hope he has good security:

Collins: Why are you speaking out publicly with your story now?

Butler: It's been a roller coaster, a couple of weeks ago with Judge Cannon says she's going to release the names of the witnesses ...

I am sure his phone is blowing up with death threats since he said it out loud on show.

Butler seems very credible to me. I suspect a jury would agree if the case ever makes it to trial.

which is why these interviews shouldn't be allowed.

This witness shouldn't be allowed to discuss this when it's ongoing.

The smartest thing he did was hiring his own lawyer.

Just listening to the lengths dementia don was offering him to get him to sign on with his attorney was outstanding.

All this guy did was paint a target on his back.

The MAGA morons won't care other than to make his life a living hell.

And any potential impact this might have will probably fade by November. Americans are rather dumb and have very very short memories.

Why do you think his First Amendment rights should be restricted? He's not prosecuting or defending the case, he can talk about whatever he wants. Given the way PO1135809's allies in Congress and the judiciary are behaving, he's just getting ahead of the lies before they start to come out.

Given the judge running (or NOT running) this matter, this guy's mouth may have gotten him eliminated from the roster of witnesses. Judge Cannon will decide in, oh, about umpteen years...

Brian Butler, who is referenced as "Trump Employee 5" in the classified documents indictment brought by special counsel Jack Smith, told CNN in an exclusive interview that he doesn't believe the criminal case against Trump is a "witch hunt," as the former president has claimed.

Butler, who was employed at Mar-a-Lago for 20 years, has spoken repeatedly with investigators, paying for his own attorney and breaking with the orbit around Trump that he knows so well " setting him apart from his former colleagues and friends as his former boss has been named in multiple federal investigations.

Butler told CNN how he unknowingly helped Nauta deliver boxes of classified information from Mar-a-Lago to the former president's plane in June 2022 " the same day that Trump and his attorney were meeting with the Justice Department at Mar-a-Lago about the classified documents.

Judge Cannon may get herself kicked off this case yet ...

Me neither.
Wonder if the flight plan was straight to Moscow, or were there other stops?

No, it was hand-delivered to the Saudis at the LIV Golf Tournament in Bedminster, a month after the "raid," and coinciding with Ivana's "accidental death."

April, 2022, Jared gets $2bn from the Saudis.
June, 2022, PO1135809 steals documents from under the FBI's noses...DURING the "raid."
July, 2022, Ivana dies "accidentally."

correction, the boxes that were moved were prior to the executed search warrant, but after the subpoena...it's hard to keep track of PO1135809's crimeing, there are so many crimes...

@#18 ... prior to the executed search warrant ...

According to the timeline link in #15...

... August 8, 2022

Federal agents execute a search warrant at Trump's Florida property, uncovering 13 boxes or containers with documents marked classified -- "more than twice the amount produced June 3 in response to the grand jury subpoena." Trump was not at the property at the time, and media reports showed him at Trump Tower in Manhattan.

A photo released in a court filing later that month shows some of the seized documents with clear markings of "Top Secret" and "Secret."

Trump, in a post online, says the records were "all declassified" and placed in "secure storage." A day later, Trump, who continues to hint at a possible 2024 run for the presidency, cites the FBI search in a campaign fundraising appeal. ...

"secure storage" ???

"20 posts and no rwingers?"

Ya they got nothing but lies and false equivalencies for the classified documents indictments.

And for this criminal case they just hope Trumpy can run out the clock and also pull off a win so he can just make all it go away.

Because there is no denying he did it or any way to beat the rap on this one if he goes to court and he knows it. He did it and he is guilty of the charges and he'd do it again if given the chance.

Yeah.

A false equivalence.

That appears to be all the GOP has to defend the actions of their leaders of late.
