He appeared to talk about two bloodbaths... one for the auto industry, and another for the country, which he then repeated.

His people know what he meant, just as they did at the J6 Rally.

Yea. Because "bloodbath" isn't a dog whistle for the deplorable MAGAt crew.

Donald Trump is running for president. His words were chosen deliberately.

Stop making excuses for a man who has stated his plans to destroy America should he win the election.

The crowd cheered and applauded when he said he will implement 100% tariffs on Chinese cars made in Mexico. It's the only policy position I've heard from him, an absolutely asinine one to boot. And his cult LOOOOOOOVED the idea.

----- gonna get ugly.

I'm not so sure it matters. The statement alone shows Trump doesn't know what the fnkc he's talking about regarding policy. I mean of all the policy-related stances to take and speak out about, he chooses this one?!

Didn't realize that. You're correct.

While Chinese automakers like Nio and BYD have expressed intentions to enter the U.S. market with their electric vehicles, there are currently no Chinese-branded cars available for purchase in the U.S. However, Chinese automakers are inching closer to the American market, with plans to potentially import vehicles from Mexico to circumvent certain tariffs and restrictions. The exact timeline for when Chinese-branded models will be available for purchase in the U.S. remains uncertain, with some experts suggesting it may not happen before 2025.

Chinese-branded cars are not currently available for direct purchase in the United States. This is due to several factors, including the "chicken tax," a tariff imposed on certain imported goods, and restrictions on federal tax credits for electric vehicles produced outside North America. While there is no specific law banning the sale of Chinese-manufactured cars in the U.S., these trade barriers and regulations have hindered Chinese automakers from directly selling their vehicles in the American market. However, some Chinese automakers are exploring strategies to enter the U.S. market, such as potentially moving manufacturing plants to U.S. soil to produce cars locally and circumvent these restrictions

The point really is you don't want to buy a Chinese car.

For the most part they are very bad jokes.

Yeah, Japanese cars got a whole lot better. I've driven a Toyota hybrid for years now.

I saw a really funny video the other day of a Chinese import car being touted in Russia.

And the rest of the speech was filled with so much Nazi ---- that I'm certain that the media and the Biden campaign are colluding with him on this.

But its kind of missing the point. Chinese vehicle quality improved, OEMs branched out into Eastern Europe, India, and Mexico.

It won't be long now for Western Europe to fall.

Eyes are on the US market, 2025-2030.

NAFTA I imagine, Chinese are going to build them in Mexico.

Chinese and Tesla are innovating ... American legacy manufactures are stagnating because IMO they (autoworkers and management) know they will be bailed out.

I absolutely love all of the talk about "American car companies doing better/worse/staying the same."

As though slaves, either from the 3rd world or from US prisons don't have to suffer for US car companies, or any other American industry for that matter, to do anything.

"What he missed was Trump tariffs on manufacturers, that Biden kept in place."

Which doesn't really differentiate the candidates...

The headline for this thread say "Trump talked policy." But his policy is the same as Biden. So he's not really offering anything different. Well, other than promising a blood bath twice.

The "bloodbath" Trump is talking about is turning his enemies list into a "hit list."

Is Trump capable of using his mob instincts to put out a "contract" on certain journalists and judges, etc?

You betcha!

Revenge is the bane of Trump's existence. It's the only thing that keeps his adrenaline pumping.

#33 | Posted by Twinpac at 2024-03-20 05:56 AM | Reply

Maybe because we really know that his 'talk' about policy is merely lip service.
He's never been a policy POTUS before, unless you count his partially constructed
billion dollar wall. But we know what he means by 'bloodbath', and we know he
truly means to carry that out...

Not a real American history buff I see.

There was a time in our history when tariffs were the main source of federal taxation for the government.

The tariff was the main form of federal taxation over the first half of the history of this country, until the income tax emerged in 1913.

When did Trump ever talk about policy the last two years? Threatening his perceived enemies, vowing revenge, promises to pardon Jan6 traitors, sending the army to forcibly remove illegals, that is all he has talked about. That is one "policy" at best. NEVER has Trump since 2021 talked about or created a plan to help Americans, except the tax cuts for the super-rich like him. The absurdity of even mentioning a 100% tariff is not "policy."

I posted this on another thread on this same topic.

A person who staged an insurrection, actively encouraged it on twitter while it was occurring and expressed his support that perhaps his Vice President should be hanged does not get the benefit of the doubt when using violent rhetoric.
If it bothers a person that Trump's statements are always going to be viewed within the broader context of his own actions then I can only assume that person has turned their back on justice and the Constitution and stand in support a fraudulent, rapist insurrectionist and his enablers.

One could make the case that this type of incendiary language violates the terms of his bail in at least one of the criminal proceedings against him...not that any of the judges he's dealing with in those cases has the stones to put him in jail. But still...

bloodbath (plural bloodbaths)

Indiscriminate killing or slaughter; a massacre.

(sports) An aggressive or very violent contest or confrontation.
(figuratively) An upset (as of a game with unexpected results, or a national presidential convention) or heavy defeat.
(figuratively, business) A large financial loss or massive layoff brought about by negative economic conditions.
A bath taken in warm blood used as a restorative or medical treatment.

..wait, what?!
