"We are sacrificing time away from family and making more money in the private sector for the vanity of a few people (on both sides) that want to raise money and their media profiles," said one House Republican. "The vast majority of members came to make a difference. We understand the utility of posturing and politics for the goal of governing. That's not what's going on anymore though. The inmates are running the asylum," the lawmaker added.

The dysfunction of the GOP is fascinating to watch. This is a party that lacks unity, that lacks messaging and absolutely lacks any kind of solidified identity.

Biden and the Dems are polling horribly. A functional political party would bury them but the GOP may not only lose the WH but down tickets as well.

It's no secret that I think Dems are absolutely horrific on policy. But they are unified and know how to use and abuse the powers they have. The GOP is feckless and flailing.
