Will Saletan: Two years after Putin's invasion of Ukraine, as Russia continues to kill civilians, seize land, and threaten Europe, the GOP has opened its convention with an emphatic message.

"I don't really care what happens to Ukraine one way or the other."

Well, then you've hitched your sad wagon to the right vehicle: a loathsome parade of mob ignorance and hate led by the man you described as "America's Hitler."

Lifting a page from Vance's musing about Trump being "America's Hitler," gotta wonder how this raw opportunist sees himself. Is he Trump's Goebbels? Or perhaps Goring? Vance brought it up before he signed on as circumstances changed, so maybe he can explain things a bit better now? Speer? Or the guy who tended to Blondie? The chauffeur?

Blah blah blah. They have legitimate complaints about why US shouldn't be sending aid. But, instead of diving in to those complaints and figuring out how we can keep America strengthened but still help others when we can, this article is so full of partisan bias that only serves to demonize people they don't agree with. But, Dems being the hypocrites they are, they can't even see it. I've been saying for a long time, both parties NEVER look at the flaws in their ideologies, only the positives. So, let's give all of our resources to Ukraine and not worry about how America stays safe and solvent...right? Instead, let's just continue bickering like children and ensuring America never progresses.

"So, let's give all of our resources to Ukraine and not worry about how America stays safe and solvent...right? "

There you go again.

ALL of our resources? Not even close.

The U.S. has committed 0.32% of its GDP toward Ukraine aid, which falls below the percentages committed by the U.K. (0.55%) and Germany (0.57%). Outside of the U.S. and Europe, other significant contributors include Japan, Canada and South Korea.Feb 23, 2024

We spend more on casino gambling in America than we spend on helping Ukraine.

If you have any evidence that republicans would be using this money to help the average american if we weren't using it to fight our worst enemy, let's see it.

Do you get your whining points directly from Putin or is it passed on by a Republican translator?

The GOP is the party of Cut and Run. Perhaps they see the need for US weapons production being necessary to equip US Armed Forces, who will be stationed on the streets of this once-great country, when Der Dotard invokes the Insurrection Act in every Blue State in the US...

Quelle surprise.. the pro-dictator party doesn't want to help fight off dictators. Shocking!

@#8 ... You're exceedingly boring and predictable. ...

As I have noted a few times previously, the humtake alias reminds me of the episode of M*A*S*H where a bumbling pilot they called "5 O'Clock Charlie" showed up each day.

Trump couldn't convince Ukraine to lie about an investigation into Biden.

Of course Republicans won't support our ally now.

This is who they are.

So all Republicans would rather spend money to create a military that will be partisan on internal differences but that will turn a blind eye to autocracies that swuelch democracy and that commit war crimes & atrocities against freedom seeking allies around the world??

How Repugnant of them!

How could Nikki Haley endorse a ticket that takes its directions from Moscow? Putin loves this Party's neo-isolationism and its backstabbing of freedom seeking allies.

The US military will soon be reconfigured as an internal security force.

You heard it here first.

People are ------- idiots.
