Trump Lobbied DeSantis to Name Daughter-in-Law Lara to Senate

President-elect Donald Trump is advocating on behalf of his daughter-in-law, Lara Trump, the former Republican National Committee co-chair who has been floated as a candidate to replace Florida Sen. Marco Rubio when he becomes secretary of state, according to a new report.

Trump is trying to earn a political appointment for a family member from Desantis and just so happens Desantis name has recently been floated for SecDef.

There is a solid reason why nepotism is frowned upon and is illegal in some situations. That person would be in personal thrall to the President, not the people in the state or district.
