U.S. President Donald Trump said on Friday he would pardon baseball great Pete Rose, criticizing Major League Baseball for barring the all-time hit champion from the sport's hall of fame for gambling.

I see that Trump is spending his time dealing with the most pressing issues which are impacting the average American family.

If Trump thinks that Pete will appreciate this gesture, he should have pardoned him four years ago, when Pete was still alive.

Pete was convicted of tax evasion, for not reporting his winnings from betting no horses (and betting on baseball too, I guess). He did time in Leavenworth. Were he alive, he would not have been impressed with El Rey Dotardo II in the least. Pete liked people who worked hard, and made something of themselves. He would have called Donald "Don", and would have irritated Trump from the get-go. Pete was no phony--he was uncouth, from a poor part of Cincinnati, and made something of himself through constant effort...
