Towns near the Canadian border are suffering. From Bellingham, Washington, to Calais, Maine, the United States has dozens of communities that are not so much linked to Canada's economy as interwoven with it.

Texas: $4 here for Walmart brand eggs

Congrats on bringing down the cost of eggs to somewhere NEAR normal.

That's good news.

But the high price of eggs was due mostly (mainly?) to the culling of chickens due to the spread of bird flu.

The results of Pres Trump's tariffs are only now beginning to be felt.

Trump has been making an effort to get foreign producers to ship us more eggs, because egg prices shamed him.

Imports that he is now slapping tariffs on.

He's stupid; you're stupid.

Well I do actually...

But things will almost certainly get worse and all your efforts to prop up the man will be in vain.

Just enjoy the pain Trump is now promising you.

America faces a two front economic disaster.
Tariffs increasing domestic prices and reducing exports and a near global boycotting of American products by foreign citizens.

That might come down a bit... OPEC+ has announced they will triple their planned production increase for May.

At least oil might come down. Gas is due for "summer driving/refinery maintenance" increases.

The recession has already started in any location where consumer sentiment has soured and individuals are scaling back their spending. Anywhere there are expectations of higher inflation and the prospect of a lower standard of living, a recession has started. From farm fields to factory floors to trading desks at investment houses, lower expectations and an air of caution have laid the foundation for the next recession.

When W and Darth Cheney started into office, they talked down the economy so as to bring on a recession early in their administration, to get it behind them in time for the 2004 elections. They were somewhat successful. The band of stooges in the administration now have none of the expertise, knowledge or skill to slow the US economy and then speed it up. They are actively scuttling the ship of state and have no lifeboats...

Liberals, you have become your own worst enemy. I remember in 2022 that everyone said we were in a recession after the stock market dropped more than it has recently. And the liberal reply was telling us we aren't in a recession and the definition we used for recession forever was actually not correct.

It's sad you are so oblivious to reality that you can't even stop for a minute to think critically about anything you say. And the result is a blowhard idiot is voted into office, all because liberals can't get outside of their fictional world to join the rest of us in the real world to try to solve problems so that an idiot like Trump doesn't get voted in to shock the system.

But, yeah, blame everything on people who don't agree with everything you say. That has worked wonders for your party and for this country, hasn't it?

It wasn't that long ago Biden was trying to get America to believe that the POTUS can't do much about gas prices. And liberals everywhere, including you DR kids, supported him in that regard. Yet, as usual and to my point above, you let hypocrisy rule your party.

The point isn't to demonize you. The point is to get you to realize that all of this whining like babies and being hypocritical does absolutely nothing. In fact, one could easily say it hurts our country. So, while you are busy calling out Reps for hurting our country, you are doing the exact same thing.

Obviously the President can do a lot to affect gas prices. W. Bush started a war, for example.
Biden wasn't willing to do the stupid things with horrible long-term consequences to move gas prices in the short term.
Everyone who isn't a Trumper understood what Biden meant.

Generally, 2 quarters of negative GDP growth is considered a recession unofficially. That didn't happen in 2022, did it?

Didn't think so. We had 7.4%, -1.0%, then 0.3%.

Go home and take your meds.

Excerpt for the fact that you're a well known liar in the community.

As the US War in Iraq continued to unravel in the spring of 2004, then-Sen. Joe Biden delivered a commencement speech at the University of Delaware where he addressed the original decision to go to war.

"Let me tell you what I see with Iraq," Biden told the graduates. "We had to go into Iraq, not because Saddam (Hussein) was part of Al Qaeda, there was no evidence of that, not because he possessed nuclear weapons or because he posed an imminent threat to the United States, there was no evidence of that."

"The legitimate reason for going into Iraq, was he violated every single commitment he made and warranted being taken down. And the international community and us had a right to respond."
His speech more than a year after the war began reveals how Biden continued to stand by the decision to invade Iraq and his vote to authorize President George W. Bush to do so, even as some of his Democratic colleagues began to turn against the war. The comment is one several examples found during a CNN KFile review of Biden's speeches and television appearances between 2003 and 2006 where he defended or explained his vote to authorize the use of force in Iraq.

Biden never met a billionaire he didn't love.

Then Biden repeated his earlier remarks that he didn't want to "demonize" the wealthy and added that, though "income inequality" is a problem that must be addressed, under his presidency, "no one's standard of living will change, nothing will fundamentally change." He went on: "I need you very badly. I hope if I win this nomination, I won't let you down."
