... As Trump has jacked up import taxes, he has tried to assure a skeptical public that foreign producers would pay for those taxes and that retailers and automakers would absorb the additional expenses. Most economic analyses are deeply skeptical of those claims and have warned that the trade penalties would worsen inflation. Walmart warned on Thursday that everything from bananas to children's car seats could increase in price. Trump, in his Truth Social post, lashed out at the retailer, which employs 1.6 million people in the United States. He said the company, based in Bentonville, Arkansas, should sacrifice its profits for the sake of his economic agenda that he says will eventually lead to more domestic jobs in manufacturing. ...

Trump Suck, Suck, Suckety, Sucks.
Why should Walmart eat economic losses to preserve Trump's political capital?
That Fool is downright Delusional.
He wants everyone else to cover his mistakes and Lies.
Ain't Happenin', Homey.
His Lunacy is truly unbelievable.

Expect this to become the standard line from folks who previously called any attempts to interfere with corporate profitability anti-American.
They're becoming more socialist than the supposed soshulistz they claim to be against.

@#3 ... Expect this to become the standard line ...
The standard line in the Trump admin used to be that the exporting country, e.g., China, would be the one paying the tariff. Remember Pres Trump touting the External Revenue Service?

"EAT THE TARIFFS," Trump shrieks in his Norma Desmond incarnation.
Poor Old Orange Julius just doesn't get it, does he? Walmart is a publicly traded company with a management and board bound by fiduciary responsibilities which, oddly, do not include saving a senescent nutter's proverbial bacon.

"Trump ... said the company, based in Bentonville, Arkansas, should sacrifice its profits for the sake of his economic agenda"
Every single Republican head would've EXPLODED had Obama or Biden made this statement.
Meanwhile, folks like Pam Bondi and EmptyG are engaged in insider trading, in plain sight, and every Republican here is dead silent.

First Amazon... now Wallysworld...LOL... Trumpanzee insisted on enacting the largest "tax hike" in history ... which is what the tariffs are... and is upset nobody wants to pay them... all the discount outlets... sneaky way to squeeze more blood out of the poor...
Then there are the retirement funds counting on profits...
...who knew economics could be so complicated?
Remember repealing and replacing the ACA... aka "Obamacare"... with something better?
Joe may have been "secretly senile"... Trumpanzee is blatantly senile...

And the tariffs have done what good for what company, or for what people? As far as I can tell, they are about the scene being played out in Trump's damaged brain, where everything is about him, where he is the great deal maker, where finally all approach him with tears in their eyes thankful for our dear leader's hard work. Five year old kids often have that place in their brains, as they daydream their way through life, but then they grow up and find a way to work with other people to make this a better world.

The purpose of tariffs is to discourage consumers from buying goods made in the nation that the tariff applies to. Telling Walmart to eat the cost of the tariff is ridiculous and he will be ignored by retailers who are in business to make money.

Prices will rise, Bessent says, as tariff pressure grows www.axios.com
... Some consumer prices will likely rise due to tariffs, Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent acknowledged on Sunday, even after the White House publicly warned retailers against it. Why it matters: A week after the president's economic team insisted tariffs would not increase consumer prices, there's a different message: They will, but inflation's in check and other costs are coming down. ...

"Why should Walmart eat economic losses to preserve Trump's political capital?"
OH MY FREAKING GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD! So many liberals are so clueless. Here, let me make a similar post:
"Why should Walmart eat economic losses to preserve Democrat's tax increases on businesses and the rich?"
It's the same freaking thing. No matter when happens, when a corporation's bottom line is impacted, prices are increased. When a rich person has his networth impacted, he lobbies and does shady things to pass on the impact to workers. Yet, liberals want corporations to pay more more more more more more. That more more more more will be passed on to consumers. This isn't conjecture, there are decades and decades of history that prove this.
Tariffs may not be the answer. But neither is ANYTHING that liberals have come up with. If you really think it's a problem. If you really are sick of corporations not paying their share, do something about it that doesn't have the same freaking impact of anything someone else is trying to do. How is this not complete common sense? How has your party sheeped you so thoroughly? How has hypocrisy become your new ideology above your principles?

"Yet, liberals want corporations to pay more more more more more more. That more more more more will be passed on to consumers" And now Trump is forcing corporations to pay even more in the form of tariffs. Tariffs that will be passed on to consumers.
"Tariffs may not be the answer." So then stop supporting them.
"But neither is ANYTHING that liberals have come up with." What liberal ideas have even been tried? Be specific.

- Tariffs may not be the answer.
But hey... let's blow through a few trillion in American wealth just so Trumpers can find out what everyone else already knew!
And we can also destroy America's good will in the world at the same time... win-win.
