If it ever gets remotely close to tobacco's risk, then I'll pay attention. Until then, MEH.

It's not like they give the rats they test 100 joints a day and then they stroke out or anything.

or Matanuska Thunder*uck.
Anyway... I think it's nice to be able to pick your strength rather than have to settle for what's available

Anti marijuana laws were a great way to incarcerate otherwise completely innocent people, especially black people.
I wouldn't be surprised if studies like these aren't used to push anti marijuana legislation.

Huh.
Data availability statement
No data are available. The data explored in this systematic review and meta-analysis have been extracted from publicly available databases. Although the authors will not share the data directly, any interested researcher may apply the search strategy developed for this analysis, available in the online supplemental appendix.
Yeah, this is looking REALLY fishy.
I also looked up the names on the paper. Some of them are... shady at best. There are some addiction claims some of them have made that are absolute bullcrap.
This is an intentional hit piece.

" There was a moderate to high risk of bias in most of the included studies, largely because of lack of information on missing data and imprecise measures of cannabis exposure."

I wouldn't be surprised if studies like these aren't- revealing an independent relationship to heart issues ,
African Americans from the United States (95%), had the highest rate of cardiovascular death among the ethnic/racial groups worldwide. + Black Americans use cannabis at the highest rate among major ethnic groups = ambiguous conclusion

Be careful what you wish for. It could end up being like the alcohol amendments...

FTA-The researchers acknowledged several limitations to their systematic review and meta analysis. There was a moderate to high risk of bias in most of the included studies, largely because of lack of information on missing data and imprecise measures of cannabis exposure. Most of them were observational and several used the same data

My own personal experience has a "moderate to high risk of bias".
But if I had consumed as much alcohol as I have consumed cannabis I'd be dead long ago with a trail of destruction left stretched far and wide behind me.
After all I the bs I have been through in my life its a minor miracle that I am still here at all!
But cannabis has definitely helped.

I have never been so wasted on weed that I would risk my life doing something stupid .Alcohol that's another story altogether, growing up in the 60's and 70's drunk driving was an acceptable social practice.

But where are these alcohol death stats comparisons?
Absolutely one-sided.
Don't even bother.

Not a daily user here but have been known to partake. I used to think the same thing you're saying but this strong stuff these days causes people to behave differently. Had a neighbor back in NOLA who was an investment banker at the time, guy was cool as a cucumber but if he wasn't at work he was high as a kite from breakfast to bed, and I had my suspicions that likely used at work. All that said, I was around him a couple of times when he was out and it wasn't pleasant. Dr. Jekyl/Mr. Hyde
