Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News
Wednesday, July 16, 2025

A Mexican national living illegally in Mission, Texas, has been arrested for allegedly running an operation that hired and harbored illegal aliens at a local taco restaurant. According to the Department of Justice (DOJ), Juan Ramirez Cortez, 39, was taken into custody on July 10 after a coordinated investigation led by the FBI in collaboration with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), Homeland Security, the Drug Enforcement Administration, and the Department of Public Safety. Cortez now stands accused of reportedly knowingly employing illegal aliens without any authorization to work in the U.S. while managing the Ole Taco restaurant in Mission, Texas.

This should make lefties happy. I mean, when it comes to illegal immigration the one thing lefties have at least somewhat supported is arresting business owners who employ illegal aliens. Danforth should be ecstatic.

A Mexican, living illegally in Texas, was harboring aliens???

Did the MIB show up to deal with the situation?

I'm sure that's a violation of international jurisdictions.

He might have been referring to perfectly legal, US owned and operated company officers doing that. Is that what this was?

"A Mexican national living illegally in Mission, Texas" does not sound like that to me.

Perhaps Danforth can clarify... it's not my place to do it for him.

An excerpt from the Border Patrol Union webpage that was deleted during Pres Trump's first term:
web.archive.org

  • Walls and fences are temporary solutions that focus on the symptom (illegal immigration) rather than the problem (employers who knowingly hire illegal aliens).

  • Walls and fences are only a speed bump. People who want to come to the United States to obtain employment will continue to go over, under, and around the walls and fences that are constructed.

  • Walls and fences will undoubtedly result in an increase in fraudulent documents and smuggling through the Ports of Entry.

  • Walls and fences do not solve the issue of people entering the country legally and staying beyond the date they are required to leave the country, a problem which will undoubtedly increase as more walls and fences are constructed.

  • Walls and fences are temporary solutions that focus on the symptom (illegal immigration) rather than the problem (employers who knowingly hire illegal aliens).

    Yup.

The problem is the employers who hire and give incentive for illegal aliens to come into the US.

I asked him about this specific issue. If he felt any pressure or had been approached by anyone or in any way whatsoever was concerned about his role in immigration enforcement. From employers, the chamber, anybody especially anybody who supported him in his campaign.

He said it's a non issue. No pressure to enforce it, no pressure to ignore it.

It just requires the "good cops" to do nothing while the "few bad apples" spoil the barrel.

"Zero government services for illegal aliens except emergency medical care."

Congratulations! Your refusal to deal with reality (aka, your head up your a$s) will result in mass breakouts of usually-controlled diseases.

    Heckuva job, Brownie!

"Continue aggressively deporting those who came here illegally."

Including the ones who've been part of the fabric of their communities for decades? Who've raised kids and (otherwise) followed the law? No thanks.

We were promised first, we'd get rid of the worst of the worst... not workers at Home Depot and Chipotle.

I'm all for deporting criminals and gangs. When will that start?

Are you suggesting that hasn't happened, like, at all?

#66 Nobody can even define what that means as it pertains to deportation. They aren't being tried for a crime. They are being deported.

Yes deportation is a civil proceeding. Due process at its base is "notice" and "opportunity to be heard." The concept does not differ based on the dichotomy.

That said, the Buffoon and goons, got caught giving no notice much less an opportunity to be heard. When called out, i.e. injunctions, the Buffoon and goons, tried an hour or so notice, in non-native language, much less an opportunity to be heard.

Judges appointed by both parties have condemned and enjoined this bull***t and mostly required 72hrs notice. The Buffoon and goons response, I read a headline today they're gonna give 6hrs notice. In court time that's no notice much less opportunity to be heard.

Another thing, the Buffoon and goons complain about the length of deportation proceedings. Those are administrative agency proceedings. The Buffoon is firing immigration judges while bi****g about delay.

Not when Stephen Miller is telling them to pick up day laborers at Home Depot, no.

And remind us how many of the renditioned 253 to El Salvador had a criminal record? More, or less, than seven?

(Narrator: "It was six, kids! That's LESS!")

    Of course, not, moron.

But the plurality of deportations are migrants without criminal records, contrary to what your Lord and Savior Trump has said.

God d(*& you really are a childishly simplistic idiot.
