"There are a range of incentives, in which a potential mineral/rare earth deal could be one," a source with knowledge of the proposals told The Telegraph.

This deal would grant Putin access to valuable minerals in Ukraine's eastern regions, particularly lithium, which is used in the production of batteries.

Ukraine is believed to hold 10 percent of the world's lithium reserves, two-thirds of which are located in areas under Russian control."

=

"In addition to the mineral and aviation proposals, Trump is considering opening Alaska's valuable natural resources, especially oil and gas reserves, to Russia. Alaska's proximity to Russia"just three miles across the Bering Strait"makes this an attractive option for Putin's strategic interests in the Arctic region, which accounted for 80 percent of Russia's gas production in 2022."

"offering to sell Russia some Boeing aircraft"

Trump could drive a hard bargain there, as Russia is hurting from the sanctions. And let's face it Boeing will take the money.

So. What does Trump get for it?

Now while most posters here are saying Trump Trump Trump, lets look at the map...

Russians have massed another 100,000 and that offensive is starting to making multi km breakthroughs. North Koreans have begun appearing in Donbass.

Time is running out for Ukraine, no matter how many weapons we give them. At what point do you chumps think they're supposed to negotiate, when the line collapses completely?

and we can't give them the 1 thing they really need, which is people. It's always been people. Nobody can give them people. Nobody here is suggesting send the US military, it wasn't a suggestion under Biden it's not a suggestion under Trump. The Poles aren't going in there, the EU isn't going in there, the UN isn't sending the blue hats.

and we can't give them the 1 thing they really need, which is people. It's always been people.

They didn't need "people" so much as American leadership. They stopped a three day "special operation " and turned it into a 3-4 year war and decimated the Russian army and sent it reeling.

What they needed was the full support of America and Americans to be able to advance and improve and take advantage of their initial successes. And while they had American support briefly and intermittently they put Pooty's dick in the dirt many times.

They needed Americans to take a strong lead in the defense of Democracy. The rest of the democratic world would have followed. No one wants Russia to be able to threaten or control Europe. No one except maga Nazis.

Russia and Ukraine Agree: A Trump Summit Is a Big Win for Putin
www.nytimes.com

... The talks on Friday in Alaska pull the Russian leader out of diplomatic isolation from the West, and Ukrainian and European leaders fear it gives him an opening to sway the American president. ...

President Trump has spent the week setting the bar extremely low for his high-stakes U.S.-Russian summit on Friday in Alaska. Hardly anyone expects him to make much progress in halting the fighting between Russia and Ukraine, given how far apart their views of the conflict are.

But those two warring countries do seem to agree on at least one thing. Merely meeting with Mr. Trump is a big win for President Vladimir V. Putin, bringing the Russian leader out of a diplomatic deep freeze and giving him a chance to cajole the American president face to face.

"Putin's visit to the U.S.A. means the total collapse of the whole concept of isolating Russia. Total collapse," Kremlin-controlled television crowed after news of the hastily arranged summit broke last weekend.

For Russia, "this is a breakthrough even if they don't agree on much," said Sergei Mikheyev, a pro-war Russian political scientist who is a mainstay of state television. ...

So. Let me get this straight. Russia and NK agreed to send troops to help other and so that makes OK for them to send troops to attack another sovereign nation. And you are ok with that?

By that logic then it's perfectly ok with the U.S. and any countries that are allied with Ukraine sending troops to help Ukraine who is currently under attack and needs our help.
