Authorities are considering whether to charge an Indiana homeowner who they say shot and killed a woman working as a house cleaner after she mistakenly went to the wrong address.

A cleaning woman showed up at the wrong house with her husband. Someone inside shot through the door, striking 32-year-old MarÃa Florinda RÃos PÃ©rez de VelÃ¡squez in the head, killing her. The Indianapolis suburb is called Whitestown.

OK, my neighbor's son one time knocked on my front door.

He is not a white Christian, but a person of color.

The neighbor had just moved in to the adjacent rental property, so I did not know them.

So, this person, who I did not know, knocks on my door. I answer the knocking.

I open the door.

Was the first thing on my mind to shoot him dead?

No. Absolutely not.

I asked him, "what's up?"

He said that lives in the adjacent house and that his cell phone battery is dead and he needs to call his Mom because he cannot find the spare key to his house. Can he use my phone?

I said, sure.

I gave him my phone to use.

I also watched as he subsequently went into the adjacent house.

True story.

Sorry, but if that door is intact with no damage indicating attempted break in, the home owner should be charged.

Castle Doctrine doesn't give one the right to kill for simply being on your porch.

Back in my apartment days I lived in a complex with several identical buildings.

I once misidentified my building and actually tried to stick key in lock on door to try to gain entry. All completely innocent.

The owner opened the door and we figured out I was in the wrong building. End of story.

However, the owner was African American.

So what was posted was a selectively edited quote which left off the salient point. The full quote indicates it was a comparison between the effectiveness of a shotgun vs an AR-15.

Partial quotes are more properly indicated by a preceding " ... " to indicate that there is something before the indicated quote.

That would be a point IF VP Biden suggested one SHOULD fire a shotgun through a door. Since he only claimed that firing his shotgun through a door would do better than an AR-15 to keep someone away from your house.

This is sick. Just plain sick. Like the woman in Ocala, FL killing the mother that knocked on her door because the killer kept complaining about children playing outside. It's all gotten so bad in Florida that "ding-dong-ditch" is getting children killed, held at gunpoint, while wackos demand they give up the names of any other children that dared ring a doorbell and run.
