Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News
Tuesday, February 03, 2026

"If we could get the average American to start working a year earlier, right out of high school, or a year later, not retire, or work better during their lifetime because they're healthy, it would generate about $3 trillion to the US economy. That would more than remove the debt."

WATCH -- @repmcgovern.bsky.social : "Republicans have done everything they can to help those who are well off get more, and those who are struggling get less ... tax cuts for millionaires & billionaires while their big ugly bill cut $1 TRILLION from Medicaid."

Dr. Mehmet Oz's insipid comments continued:

" ... It would provide us unbelievable strength because the taxes on that $3 trillion would allow to keep Medicare Part A solvent. It would allow us to make Social Security healthier. Tremendous downstream benefits. But to do that, you have to invest in making sure that people want to work the extra year."

~snip~

So, Dr Mehmet Oz wants Americans to start working younger and then longer like peasants to pay for the massive national debt caused by the obscene and unnecessary 2025 Republican tax cuts for billionaires and oligarchs, AKA the "BBB." The nefarious Trumpf junta just removed 1.7 million people from SNAP benefits, the VA budget is being slashed, they want to introduce 50-year home mortgages to the masses, the Dept of Education is callously collecting delinquent school loans, and auto repossessions reached a record 2.2 million vehicles in 2025.

On Tuesday 5 Nov 2024, another day that will live in infamy, 76,535,898 imbeciles voted against their best economic interests by choosing Dummkopf Trumpf to be their president, bringing us all ruin and deprivation for some time to come.

The collective stupidity of this administration is simply astounding.

Dr. Mehmet Oz, a former television presenter and author, said during an event for the "Action for Progress" initiative, which addresses mental health and addiction, alongside Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., that rural communities would benefit from having AI avatars stand in for doctors. He made the comments at a time when the Trump administration has passed a law to dramatically reduce funding for rural hospitals, many of which are already suffering from understaffing issues.

You reduce the debt by halting tax cuts to billionaires who already use every trick to avoid paying their fair shares.

I took early retirement at 62. I noticed when my fun meter was pegged out, and it was already past time.

First off, it would take much more than that to even have an impact on the national debt, and why is it that the average working person should be made to feel responsible for attempting to wipe out the national debt when for the last 25 years or so, much of that debt was created as a result of giving tax breaks to corporations and those living in the highest income percentiles?
