Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News

"If we could get the average American to start working a year earlier, right out of high school, or a year later, not retire, or work better during their lifetime because they're healthy, it would generate about $3 trillion to the US economy. That would more than remove the debt."

WATCH -- @repmcgovern.bsky.social : "Republicans have done everything they can to help those who are well off get more, and those who are struggling get less ... tax cuts for millionaires & billionaires while their big ugly bill cut $1 TRILLION from Medicaid."

Dr. Mehmet Oz's insipid comments continued:

" ... It would provide us unbelievable strength because the taxes on that $3 trillion would allow to keep Medicare Part A solvent. It would allow us to make Social Security healthier. Tremendous downstream benefits. But to do that, you have to invest in making sure that people want to work the extra year."

~snip~

So, Dr Mehmet Oz wants Americans to start working younger and then longer like peasants to pay for the massive national debt caused by the obscene and unnecessary 2025 Republican tax cuts for billionaires and oligarchs, AKA the "BBB." The nefarious Trumpf junta just removed 1.7 million people from SNAP benefits, the VA budget is being slashed, they want to introduce 50-year home mortgages to the masses, the Dept of Education is callously collecting delinquent school loans, and auto repossessions reached a record 2.2 million vehicles in 2025.

Welcome to the Feudal States of America, now get back to work! Link: US National Debt Clock

On Tuesday 5 Nov 2024, another day that will live in infamy, 76,535,898 imbeciles voted against their best economic interests by choosing Dummkopf Trumpf to be their president, bringing us all ruin and deprivation for some time to come.

The collective stupidity of this administration is simply astounding.

Dr. Mehmet Oz, a former television presenter and author, said during an event for the "Action for Progress" initiative, which addresses mental health and addiction, alongside Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., that rural communities would benefit from having AI avatars stand in for doctors. He made the comments at a time when the Trump administration has passed a law to dramatically reduce funding for rural hospitals, many of which are already suffering from understaffing issues.

You reduce the debt by halting tax cuts to billionaires who already use every trick to avoid paying their fair shares.

I took early retirement at 62. I noticed when my fun meter was pegged out, and it was already past time.

First off, it would take much more than that to even have an impact on the national debt, and why is it that the average working person should be made to feel responsible for attempting to wipe out the national debt when for the last 25 years or so, much of that debt was created as a result of giving tax breaks to corporations and those living in the highest income percentiles?

The U.S. National Debt has now passed $39 TRILLION.

It was $36 TRILLION when Trump took office.

Trump's administration has added $3 TRILLION dollars in 12 MONTHS!

The oligarchs and Republicans see the American masses as either food, organ donors, foot soldiers for overseas conquests, or medieval vassals that must toil from the age of 18 to 80 without universal healthcare or chance to escape their poverty.

So, don't enjoy the innocence or youth in American Graffiti or the golden years in Cocoon.

Just keep working!

Americans should work from birth to death to cover the amount of debt that other countries are calling in.

An Armenian I know immigrated to the US from Argentina in the 1980s. At a poker game one night, he remarked that after growing up in Buenos Aires, he realized that America was all about our social security numbers and work work work.

I replied to "G.O." that indeed, the American system wants to monetize us from age 22 (college graduation) to 65 (social security and Medicare realization). We must survive until 65.

The retirement age then moved to 67.

Soon, the Republicans and oligarchs will want to raise that too.

"Work till your 80!"

Billionaires and oligarchs like the members of Trumpf Crime Family (TCF) never have to worry about work or retirement ages.

We do.

Nah, if I ever got to vote on how to solve America's financial crisis I would be voting to greatly increase the taxes on the billionaire caste. Of course, that will never happen since those super rich people are able to buy off Congress and of course, many important pelicans at the state level.

Everyone should take a picture of a toilet after filling it and send it to this "Doctor" moron.

Why Dr. Oz? Was Dr. Phil busy?

When both parties finally controlled ot all,the National Debt never went down.

But, but, but, less deficits.

Pathetic.

Two parties create and never resolve.

And, of course, the brain dead dumbf*&^s who voted for him did so because he claimed he was going to take care of the debt...

How many data points are we up to now in support of how abysmally stupid and gullible Trumpers are?

Not at all. Politicians should work to actually make a budget, passed bipartisan. It's been 28 years since that has happened. They've been doing CR along the way, fighting wars on the credit card. Suddenly they see the bill coming due. Their solutions have been to run the money printing presses, making money less valuable, and increasing taxes. However, our citizens are not getting what they are paying for. It seems the wealthy are getting that.

We can't afford all the government we are getting, without adults in the room willing to control the pocketbook. The idea that Republicans are all for being budget conscious when the Dems control the majority but seem to throw that out the window when they have the majority. It usually winds up that the Repubs have run up the deficit and it takes the Dems to reduce it some. Neither party is doing the public favors increasing the purchasing power of the dollar bill.
