Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, a supporter of President Donald Trump, shared a post on X stating that "thermonuclear detonations" could create a new waterway as disruptions in the Strait of Hormuz continue amid the Iran war. "Instead of fighting over a 21-mile-wide bottleneck forever, we cut a new channel through friendly territory. A dozen thermonuclear detonations and you've got a waterway wider than the Panama Canal, deeper than the Suez, and safe from Iranian attacks

The brain dead------------------- will seriously consider nutty Newt's ------- crazy idea.

Instead of fighting over a 21-mile-wide bottleneck forever, we could simply be energy independent.

But Republicans will never support American independence from Middle East oil.

Be even faster if we nuked through the center of the Earth! Plus, we could use gravity to pull us through to the other side.

Some points on his new canal route are 3500 feet above sea level. How big of a nuke is he planning on using?

Republicans have created defacto independence from Middle East oil, for the next 2-3 months likely at the minimum.
