Harlan Ullman, a former senior US naval officer, has slammed Trump's address to the nation, saying it failed to outline a clear strategy for the war on Iran.

Needless to say, I couldn't stomach more than a couple of minutes of that rambling mushbrain's rambling ------------ self-congratulations. But, from the little I heard and the response afterwards it was obviously nothing more than his Bleat Social tweets in front of a camera. Nothing new, nothing of substance
The war continues to go bad for America with no out in sight.
Piggy gives us his usual "in a couple of weeks" mantra. I suppose the war will end right after infrastructure week and the GOP health care plan.
Funny how he just bleats war crimes like their nothing-targeting civilian infrastructure, stealing Iran's oil, bragging about stealing Venezuela's oil.
In another timeline.....

Again, NO reason for war was given. No strategic objective verbalized.
Touting the destruction of Iran's non-existent air force and obsolete surface fleet is not going to make up for the ever increasing price at the gas station.
Did you see oil price skyrocket and DOW Futures tank during the speech?
The UK will be receiving its last tanker of jet fuel and will not permit airplanes to refuel at their airports.
S. Korea has started rationing.
Neither the UK or S. Korea wanted(s) this war.
Poor countries in East Asia and Africa are now without fuel for hospitals and schools.
It's always the poorest that pay the most for these wars.

Did he praise SCOTUS for their judicious wonderfulness?

5 Million People have been displaced.
Iran continues to hit oil tankers in gulf
Infrastructure throughout the Middle East is getting hit.
Be clear, the military targets being blown up-rockets, missiles, launchers, drones are far less than is being claimed by the US government and will EASILY be rebuilt or purchased from China and Russia. That part of the campaign is pointless.
Professor Pape (author of the escalation trap) is arguing that Iran will come out of this war as a 4th super power given they will control 20% of the world's oil. America will decline.
Giving up control of the Strait of Hormuz makes that inevitable. Iran will have dominance over it's ME neighbors.
JVL of the Bulwark had an interesting observation.
By Piggy calling for other countries to go seize the SoH and seize Iranian oil, Piggy is calling for groups of countries to actively unite in competition to America. That is rather an amazing fact. That America is saying ---- it to the rest of the world, like international relationships have no use.

Be perfectly clear. this war will rage on. the catastrophic events are just beginning and will magnify exponentially. Delays of fuel and fertilizer and other chemicals will have ripple effects that will blast across the world's economy. two weeks from now there will be massive, unsolvable problems emerging.
Again, a deep recession is a given, we are looking at a global depression.
BTW Piggy sounds extremely unwell, mentally and physically, his speech was rambling, incoherent and contradictory (the little I heard and gathered from observers). It is past time he be 25th Amendmented or out right impeached.
It is literally mind-blowing that Donald J. Trump will be the singular figure to cause the downfall of America and the world.d

If Piggy was a normal human being one could take comfort that a speech like this would mean ground troops would be less likely but since Piggy is not a normal human being, who knows.
In other words, this speech meant absolutely nothing. It will mean nothing tomorrow and a week from now it will mean nothing.
So, in reality it was a grab at getting through the day. Tomorrow it will be something different.
Of course, this is a 3 day weekend, so the markets will be off, so maybe ground forces assault on Friday

At least his name will be plastered all over everything.

It would be nice of some active military personnel would push back against the flagrant war crimes Piggy is constantly touting.
Of course, EVERY SINGLE BOMB DROPPED IS A WAR CRIME.

@6 It's always the poorest that pay the most for these wars.
Meanwhile everyday Americans are suffering with the effects of the Big Beautiful Bill, sky-rocketing food and fuel prices, people skipping meals to pay for health insurance premiums, and no universal healthcare as enjoyed by the residents of Germany, Israel, Greenland, Taiwan, Canada, Italy, the UK, and tiny Albania.

Trump left his war's "sell by" date behind, when he failed - Old Yeller is, after all, nothing if not a serial failure - to address the nation properly on Feb. 28.
Weirdly, occasionally there's actually a price to be paid for being a mentally incontinent/incompetent slob slobbing his way through life.
No, thank you, GOP. After all, this is what you yearned and burned for.
Two hundred-fifty years and done.

How does Donald Trump view the job he is doing as president?
Well, Donald's recent AI-generated drawings of his proposed library feature a golden statue of himself that appears to be one-hundred feet high.
The man is delusional. He thinks that he is a god.
A far less than ordinary man with delusions of godhood....
Looking forward to a time when his grubby followers furtively worship him in junkyards and garbage piles.

Republicans, remember: You asked for this. Given the choice between a dozen solid conservatives and one Clinton-supporting con-artist and game-show host, you chose the con-artist. You chose him freely. Nobody made you do it.
