Good-for-nothing House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) bleated this confession in a podcast:

  • "The largest spending items, the reason we're in trouble is because over 74 percent of federal spending is on autopilot-- mandatory spending, that is your entitlement programs like Medicare, Medicaid, and things like Social Security-- they have to be adjusted and fixed. We have a plan to do that next year, and it's critical, because we're at $40 trillion plus in debt because of Dummkopf Trumpf's Big Beautiful Bill and the unconstitutional and expensive war against Iran that we're fighting on Israel's behalf. At some point you get into a hole so deep you can't climb out of it, so desperate times call for desperate measures, which will of course affect America's poor, sick, elderly, and vulnerable, and not the super-wealthy."

The hardworking American taxpayer is two and half galaxies away from having universal healthcare, like enjoyed by the residents of Israel, Germany, Canada, Cuba, tiny Albania, Taiwan, Greenland, and in 2027, Mexico.

    Sources:

Cost to American taxpayers of attacking Iran on behalf of Israel

The next generation of Americans will pay for the BBB and Dummkopf Trumpf's subservience to Bibi

"We'll be just fine, but thanks for asking!"

Is this aiming for satire and failing, or is it deliberately trying to be self-sabotaging satire by mixing a real quote with a fake one? It looks a lot like the latter.

It will be satire when Eberly shows up to reassure us Republicans wouldn't really overturn Roe v Wade.

The goal of the GOP for the past 50 years has been to kill social security and medicare.

They are perfectly fine with people who are 85 years old and having to go to work.

Hell that fraud Oz said people should be happy to work until they drop dead to pay down the debt the Epstein class created.

SS has been cannabalized to enable more tax cuts for millionaires.

Slash the benefits until the national debt is repaid.

    Problem solved.

Boomers ran it up. Let them suffer it.

The ones than ran it up aren't the ones who are suffering.

And Gen Blaming is counter-productive... and can easily be spread around:

"Data from exit polls following the 2024 presidential election provides insights into how different generations cast their ballots.

Exit poll data indicates the following general trends:Generation X (Ages 45"64):
This generation showed strong support for Donald Trump.

Baby Boomers & Silent Generation (Ages 65+): Older voters were closely divided between the candidates.

Millennials (Ages 30"44): This group leaned slightly away from Donald Trump

.Generation Z (Ages 18"29): Younger voters generally favored Kamala Harris, but there were shifts compared to previous elections."

    Boomers did no such thing.

Corrupt politicians have been trying to destroy the new deal for Americans since President Franklin D. Roosevelt signed the Social Security Act into law on August 14, 1935.

    "Boomers did no such thing"

Boomers have been running the show in America for what, the past 40+ years? Boomers have won 8 of 9 presidential elections (Clinton, Obama, Trump, and Bush). Boomers inhabit more than 60 of the 100 seats in the current U.S. Senate. Boomers have been the largest age group in the electorate since the early '80s. Boomers have wielded continuous cultural and political power longer than any previous generation in US history. Boomers came into their senior years as healthier and wealthier than any other senior group in American history, ensuring continued dominance in both culture and politics well into their 70s and now, 80s. And a good argument can be made that Boomers have had more time, energy and resources at their disposal to continually enrich themselves at the expense of the current-day working class and of tomorrow's children, teens and young professionals.

    Hundreds of billions for ICE.

Hundreds of billions for a war, on the behest of Netanyahu, against Iran.

    Zero for Americans.

Yes Nerf.. Clinton, Obama, Trump, and Bush were all boomers.

But at one time there were at least 79 million boomers in America.

Surely you are not blaming all of them for what a handful of politicians have done?

And a good argument can be made that Boomers have had more time, energy and resources at their disposal to continually enrich themselves because they literally worked hard for it.

When Boomers entered the workforce and started establishing households between 1955 and 1975, their massive population size created a surge in consumer demand. Which of course increases inflation.

It's true that economic and social landscapes have shifted drastically, leading to an understandable frustration. Younger generations face inflated housing markets, increased costs of higher education, and stagnant real wages, making the path to traditional financial milestones much harder than it was for previous generations.

Boomers created wealth. And inflation. By their sheer size and by just trying to survive and live the American Dream.

Blaming an entire generation for today's economic climate oversimplifies the many complex issues involved.

But blaming the last generation (and your parents) for all your problems is an old American tradition.

And no worries Nerf. You won't have us to kick sand at much longer. But of course you may continue to blame us for your problems forever.

Just remember. What goes around comes around.

"Surely you are not blaming all of them for what a handful of politicians have done"

Using the language of absolutes in order to downplay the Boomer generation's significant culpability regarding the multiple messes the country currently faces doesn't add much to the discussion.

    Generations don't cause problems.

    Individuals do.

Blaming an entire age cohort is idiotic and inaccurate.

It's like Racism or any other Bigotry.

Blame the Individuals who created this Debt with bad policies.

    Not an Entire Age Group.

    It's Sloppy thinking.
