I've banished ALL the cable news from my house.. from both sides. They quit doing anything but chasing profits through division years (decades?) ago.

Trump and most republicans hate the first amendment.

Many have taken measures to violate several protections it provides.

Especially the right to protest.

Pres Trump: Agree with me or your access will be denied.

@#3 ... I've banished ALL the cable news from my house.. from both sides. ...

And that was your choice for yourself. I have no issue with that, indeed, kudos for doing what you want!

But Pres Trump is trying to prevent news organizations that do not echo his lies from using their Constitutional First Amendment Right.

He does not have the right to prevent Americans from knowing about what is occurring in The Peoples' House.

And he calls his admin the ~most transparent administration ever.~

The fact he's banning them tells me they are credible.

Hate speech is the only free speech worshipped in the US.

Getting put on Nixon's enemies list, historically speaking, was not a bad thing. The fact that some people and outlets are high on Trump's favorable list is pretty damning truth be told.

Desperate times call for desperate measures.

Accountability is coming so everyone look busy.

Round up the usual suspects!

It's either real ballsy or real stupid to take on the First Amendment just before a critical election.

I say go for it.

But I'll bet he TACOs before next Tuesday.

Trump will go down in flames, anyone thinking he's going to go his last two years quietly is in for a major surprise........but I should use a quote from one of my favorite movies, "The Untouchables":

Don't wait for it to happen. Don't even want it to happen. Just watch what does happen.

I'll wager that as of now (Saturday morning) suits have already been filed to block this petulant, childish outburst from the fat orange criminal insurrectionist and golf cheat. It will be a laff riot to see Der Dotard avoid all of the female reporters from CNN, MS and Politico from here until the day after the 2028 election ...

The next logical step will be the mass arrests of the press and political opponents.

"Mass" because he's already been attempting this on a small scale.

It's not wise to wake the beast.

It's better to divide and conquer individually.

An arrest here a frivolous lawsuit there ... just enough to drain resources and prevent any organized resistance from forming.

Depends on what chapter he is on in his handbook of Hitlers speeches.

Being "transparent" and just being more available to lie to and bully the press do not mean the same thing.

I'm actually a little surprised he's banning CNN. Through their sanewashing of Trump during the runup to the election of 2024, IMO CNN is probably more responsible for getting him reelected than any other source.

"Adolf Hitler restricted freedom of the press in Germany primarily through the Reichstag Fire Decree issued on February 28, 1933, and later formalized via laws like the Editors Law (Schriftleitergesetz) on October 4, 1933.

The Reichstag Fire Decree: Enacted one day after the Reichstag building fire, President Paul von Hindenburg signed this emergency decree under Hitler's pressure. It suspended constitutional protections for freedom of the press, speech, and assembly.

Banning Opposition Media: The regime immediately shut down Communist and Social Democratic newspapers, confiscated their printing presses, and jailed political opponents without formal charges.

The Editors Law (1933): Introduced by Propaganda Minister Joseph Goebbels, this law required journalists to register on racial and political rosters. It banned Jews and those married to Jews from working in the press.

Daily Censorship Directives: The Propaganda Ministry took direct control over editorial content. Paragraph 14 of the Editors Law made it illegal to publish anything that weakened the Nazi regime."

"Media Outlets shouldn't be able to constantly write or report FICTION and LIES when they're covering the President of the United States, the Trump Administration, or the United States of America," Trump wrote. "Other Fake News Media Outlets to follow."

Courts have ruled that official presidential communication spaces"such as government-operated public social media accounts or official press access areas"can be designated public forums where the President cannot exclude individuals or silence critics based on their viewpoints

So I say go for it. See you in court A Ho.

Let' see what ya got.. besides the usual bunch of lies and insults.
