Four weeks before the November 3 US midterm elections, Republicans trail Democrats by 9.6 points on the generic ballot in analyst Nate Silver's midterm forecast model.

"Trump's net approval is below what any past president since Harry Truman had at this point in their term, with Trump's first term the closest at -10.5.

On four issues tracked by Silver, Trump's net approval is -12.7 on immigration, -28.1 on trade, -32.8 on the economy and -48.5 on inflation. Since my September 25 article, Trump's net approval on inflation has dropped two points.

As I previously wrote, owing to Republican gerrymandering, Democrats need at least a four-point margin in the generic ballot to have a good chance to win the House majority.

The Senate is more skewed to Republicans as every state has two senators. Democrats need a double-digit margin in the generic ballot to win the Senate on a uniform swing."

Here's something that will help -------!

"30-year mortgage rate hits highest mark in nearly 3 years

The interest rate on the most common home loan jumped last week to its highest in almost three years, worsening affordability for buyers four weeks before elections that will decide if President Donald Trump's Republicans keep control of Congress."

Another week or two, and the polls will start to steady out in their reflection of what might (emphasis upon "might") occur on Election Day.

Republicans are spending a buttload of money though. Not a day goes by that I don't get another shiny piece of mail push my incumbent Congressmen. And Republicans in CO are running twice as many TV ads as their Dem competition.. All full of misinformation and outright lies. Interesting though, there are FAR fewer yard signs this year than during past midterms. Most people just seem fatigued about it.

Talk, indirectly and directly from the White House, only solidifies fear of a coup.

Whether you're still confused as to what's a Nazi or who's a Nazis...

The Nazis are coming out, and it means whatever it has always meant when that happens.

Polls don't matter to people who don't vote. Or to people bent on interfering with the election. Every American sick of Trump and MAGA must get out and vote in person. Here in Ohio early voting has started and I cast my ballot this morning at my county board of elections. The place was well-staffed with helpful, eager workers who seem pumped for crowds.

Der Dotard is on the ballot--give him the bum's rush in your voting...

Ads aren't working for Republicans this year.

Not when everyone gets a gander at their receipts at grocery stores and gas stations.

Wake me up after the midterms and let me see the actual results. In the meantime, I'll do my part and vote against these fascist scum

Kind of odd, when I was a lot younger, I had to do a lot of research to understand the candidates and the needs of the country. Now...I just vote Blue, and that is that. There is no such thing as a good Republican in this time of Trump, if they were any good, they would have been McCained or tossed into the street like Cornyn.

Talarico steps off Texas Senate campaign trail after flu diagnosis
thehill.com

... Texas Democratic Senate candidate James Talarico stepped off the campaign trail following a flu diagnosis as his GOP opponent, Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton, launches new attack ads focusing on the Democrat's absence.

Talarico disclosed his illness at a U.S. Hispanic Business Council forum which he joined virtually, saying, "I was ready to eat my favorite quesadilla tacos, but I was starting to feel kind of under the weather a few days ago, and last night it got so bad that I went to the urgent care here in Dallas." ...

With Americans in a Sour Mood, Democratic Voters Are More Engaged in Midterms
www.pewresearch.org

... Trump approval drops to 30%, as 44% of voters see their vote as against' him.

And while many registered voters will not turn out to vote this fall, Democratic candidates are also buoyed by their supporters' relatively high levels of engagement and stated motivation to vote when compared with those who are backing Republican candidates. For example:

- - - 78% of voters who back their House district's Democratic candidate say it "really matters" which party wins control of Congress " 9 points higher than the share of Republican backers who say this.

- - - In contrast, Republican candidate supporters were 4 points higher on this measure than Democratic supporters at a similar point before the 2022 midterm election.

The partisan gap is also wide on other measures of engagement: Democratic supporters are 14 points more likely than Republican supporters to say they have given this year's election "a lot" of thought and 17 points more likely to say they are "extremely motivated" to vote this year.

A new Pew Research Center survey of 5,062 U.S. adults -- including 3,917 registered voters -- conducted Sept. 28-Oct. 4, 2026, also finds that Donald Trump's approval rating now stands at 30% -- the lowest of his second term.

Most voters (63%) consider Trump a factor in their vote for Congress, with far more thinking of their choice as a vote against the president (44%) than for him (19%). ...
