Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is ousting all members of a key CDC vaccination advisory committee and replacing them with his own picks. The move appears to contradict a pledge he made during his confirmation process.

Looking forward to lots and lots of dead Red state denizens.

Dead from formerly easily preventable diseases.

It's a shame, really, seeing him drag his historic name through the slime.

If Mr. Kennedy is confirmed, I will use my authority as Chairman of the Senate Committee with oversight of HHS to rebuff any attempts to remove the public's access to life-saving vaccines without ironclad, causational scientific evidence that can be defended before the mainstream scientific community and before Congress. I will carefully watch for any effort to wrongfully sow public fear about vaccines between confusing references of coincidence and anecdote.

What a frikken disaster Trump has created. At every level. I have never witnessed more crazy, lunatic, conspiracy, dictator, fascist crap ever in any civilized nation. I'm not sure any nation, no matter how vile is as batshht crazy as what MAGA America has brought to us all.

Holy shht. Marines deployed, anti-vaccination nutjobs running the CDC (and other Red states), that National Guard deployed for no reason other than to provoke to justify Trump installing himself as The Golden Dicktator.

WTF people?
And there are so many morons cheering this shht on.

I'm so glad that My dad is gone from this place. He would be actually livid seeing this. He was a firm believer in vaccines. I want off of this planet. I really do. It just gets worse and worse. Sighhhhhhh

#6: Hang in there as best as you can, Laura, Dotard Trumpf is exhausting and demoralizing many of us-- you're not alone. The USSS can't protect Trumpf from a lightning strike or a swarm of 'murder hornets' attacking him while he is golfing. And there is always a chance Trumpf will choke on a Big Mac, have an aneurysm in his sleep, or fall down the stairs of Air Force One.

RFK is a heroin addict who profits off of lies about vaccines. Trump supporters voted to put him charge of healthcare and his conspiracies will kill millions.

For all the hate Hunter got for being a drug addict, everyone on the Right looks the otherway when it comes to RFK Jr. Makes me think there are deeper drug stories to MANY Trump personnel.

Everyone I've known who died of COVID died of stupidity.

First, they railed against mask mandates, then refused to get vaccinated ... like they did as kids for diseases they didn't get.

RFK, Jr is a clear and present danger to the health of Americans

Boy, Bill Cassidy really told him, huh?

Trump is the disease, and yes, he may sooner or later kill this nation, in that America is about the rule of law, about one person, one vote democracy. I suspect it will come down to next year's midterm elections. If the Dems don't retake the House, he will have enough power to subvert the election process itself, as he tried to do on that murderous day, Jan.6.

What chemical caused RFKJr's. skin to look like rusted rebar? Drug fiends tend toward the pale.

removed every member of a scientific committee

Surely he gave this a lot of thought and didn't just fire everybody because of his personal beliefs.

Another view ...

Anti-vaccine advocate RFK Jr. fires entire CDC panel of vaccine advisors
arstechnica.com

... Anti-vaccine advocate and current US Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has taken the extraordinary action of firing all 17 vaccine experts on a federal committee that advises the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention on immunization practices.

In an opinion piece published Monday in The Wall Street Journal, Kennedy announced that he had cleared out the committee, accusing them of being "plagued with persistent conflicts of interest" and a group that has "become little more than a rubber stamp for any vaccine."

"Without removing the current members, the current Trump administration would not have been able to appoint a majority of new members until 2028," Kennedy added. ...

Announcing a restructuring of federal health guidance processes via an op-ed in a newspaper is also unusual.

In Kennedy's article, he criticized ACIP and FDA advisors for being in the pocket of the pharmaceutical industry. However, he argued that the "problem isn't necessarily that ACIP members are corrupt."

"Most likely aim to serve the public interest as they understand it," he wrote. "The problem is their immersion in a system of industry-aligned incentives and paradigms that enforce a narrow pro-industry orthodoxy."

Kennedy, who is currently trying to shift the national attention to his idea of clean living and higher-quality foods, has a long history of advocating against vaccines, spreading misinformation and disinformation about the lifesaving shots. However, a clearer explanation of Kennedy's war on vaccines can be found in his rejection of germ theory. In his 2021 book that vilifies infectious disease expert Anthony Fauci, he bemoaned germ theory as "the pharmaceutical paradigm that emphasized targeting particular germs with specific drugs rather than fortifying the immune system through healthy living, clean water, and good nutrition." ...

What a bunch of bunk and lies as normal from Jr. There are and will always be conflicts of interest. True experts doing research are who the panel members were from the ones I checked out. They worked at Universities. Honestly yes they probably had current or past research at least partially funded by corporations. Everything he is criticizing - guess what tRump and Co did? They cut government funded research so where does one get people without corporate influence now? We should double down on government research if not triple down. Then it belongs to we the people - when done properly.

@#24 ... All Biden appointees. ...

... and that is a problem in this instance?

Why?

Please be specific, with evidence.

And, your current alias might also touch upon that Sec Kennedy's testimony (under oath?) during his confirmation hearing, where he appeared to say that he would not do this.

So, Has Sec Kennedy apparently lied under oath?

My guess is that Sen. Bill Cassidy, a Republican physician from Louisiana, may have some tough questions to answer from constituents, because it was his question that Sec Kennedy appeared to lie about during the confirmation hearing.

Update ...

Kennedy names 8 vaccine committee replacements, including COVID shot critic
www.scrippsnews.com

... U.S. Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. on Wednesday named eight new vaccine policy advisers to replace the panel that he abruptly dismissed earlier this week.

They include a scientist who researched mRNA vaccine technology and transformed into a conservative darling for his criticisms of COVID-19 vaccines, and a leading critic of pandemic-era lockdowns.

Kennedy's decision to "retire" the previous 17-member panel was widely decried by doctors' groups and public health organizations, who feared the advisers would be replaced by a group aligned with Kennedy's desire to reassess -- and possibly end -- longstanding vaccination recommendations. ...

So, Sec Kennedy seems to be going against his under-oath testimony during his confirmation hearings?
