The first-term speaker flexed his muscles on Tuesday, securing eight veto overrides with aisle-crossing votes from Democratic Reps. Shelly Willingham of Edgecombe County, Cecil Brockman of Guilford County and Carla D. Cunningham and Nasif Majeed, both of Mecklenburg County. Willingham was an especially willing partner, joining House Republicans on six of the successful override votes. "We're going to continue to pass pro-growth, conservative legislation in North Carolina, no matter what the Democrats want to do or no matter whether the governor vetoes those things or not," Hall said in a Thursday video shared to the @nchousepress account on X. "We're going to continue to pass the best policies for the folks of our state, so stay tuned for more updates on legislation from the House."
Awesomeness. Just awesomeness.
This is what N.C. voted for..

Connecticut's zoning laws a focus in racial equity debate (2021)

... After the police killing of George Floyd, a Connecticut law professor invited architects, planners and land use attorneys to a discussion of how local zoning worsens the state's racial inequities. Over 200 people logged onto her impromptu Zoom meeting.

It has compiled a package of zoning changes for lawmakers to consider in a legislative session marked by debate over how to bring more equity to a state with some of the highest levels of income inequality.
"People can see with their own eyes that segregation exists in Connecticut and oftentimes they don't know why. And zoning is one of the reasons why," said Sara Bronin, the law professor at the University of Connecticut and Yale University.
"It goes to the very core of the opportunities that families have to live in integrated communities and to have the opportunities that they need to thrive." ...

Non-white people are the #1 reason for America's population growth and have been for at least twenty five years:
Hispanic residents, Asian American residents, and persons identifying as two or more races, who registered growth rates of 2.9%, 4.2% ,and 2.7%, respectively.1 Together, these three groups accounted for 93% of the nation's 2023-24 growth. In contrast, Black and American Indian and Alaska Native (AIAN) populations grew at rates of 1% and 0.4%, respectively, while the white population declined by 0.1%.
