Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News

Donald Trump continues to hold an advantage over President Joe Biden as the campaign " and the former president's criminal trial " move forward, according to a new CNN poll conducted by SSRS. And in the coming rematch, opinions about the first term of each man vying for a second four years in the White House now appear to work in Trump's favor, with most Americans saying that, looking back, Trump's term as president was a success, while a broad majority says Biden's has so far been a failure. Trump's support in the poll among registered voters holds steady at 49% in a head-to-head matchup against Biden, the same as in CNN's last national poll on the race in January, while Biden's stands at 43%, not significantly different from January's 45%.

I'm not sure it is, with people like you at large and killing chickens. Luckily, we have a Republican governor of South Dakota who knows what to do with you.

It was a good strategery by Trump... accept Russian help to win the election, then kiss up to them for 4 years and let them plan on doing things like, oh, invading Ukraine in your second term.

Now they are helping you again.

Also sucking up to Xi and Kim was effective, not to mention covering up for the Saudis.

Most real Americans would, of course, do none of those things, but hey, the Cultists like it.

Zed,

I firmly believe you desperately want Trump to win.

If he loses and fades away nothing would occupy your mind.

Personally, I live for the day when ------- is not part of my life.

He has literally poisoned nearly every day of the past 9 years. I admit much of that is my own inability to ignore the news, but I am also infuriated by the damage that monster has accomplished on our country's democracy.

LOL. Fades away. Lewzer. Good one!

There are plenty of things in the world we should be occupying our minds with.

Trumpy is actually not one of them.

Supposedly he is a billionaire and could take care of himself. But Lewzer should definitely STFU and fade away and keep his dirty hands and mouth off our government. He has no clue how the thing even works.

I am certain Zed would (I know I would) rather Trumpy STFU and let us adults address actual problems in the world and not have to worry about Trumpy's fake news his culture wars or whether we will live in a democracy next year or not.

Ok.

Remove Trumpy from the "equation" and I would bet we all start talking about something else. Something else always comes along. It may take few days weeks or even months to recover from the Trumpy Error but eventually we will recover.

How do I know this? We hardly ever talk about Bush anymore. And he was the topic 24/7/365 for awhile there. Until he STFU and retired to toe painting.

So prove ME wrong. Eliminate Trumpy from the "equation" and let's find out!

But since this is a thread about Trumpy I don't think you'll get folks to not talk about him here.

Anyway ... Good luck with your mission. I will, of course, disavow any Knowledge of your actions.

If ------- loses there is a 0% chance he will fade away. Then we will be looking at insurrection 2.0.

But the likelihood of ------- losing is not great, not impossible mind you, but not great, given the republican efforts in the past four years to assure they can skirt the will of the voters and anoint him the winner anyway-something you WILL defend, mind you

Yah see the thing is, you know, Dubya lead to the collapse of wall street, which lead to the tea party movement which lead to birtherism which lead to maga. So, this is all a continuum.

Yeah we don't talk about bush the lesser, but the evil he wrought stays with us. republican poison has infiltrated our nation's systems since Reagen and Reagan to Gingrich and on and on it goes.

Yes we are still dealing with aftermath of the Bush Error.

Unfortunately we will be dealing with the aftermath of Trumpy dividing our nation and attempting to overthrow our democracy for decades. His Supreme Court picks will be there for 40 years. Though we may not have to address him directly he will still be hanging around until all his court cases are resolved. And his policies will be with us for quite awhile as we unwind them and turn to our democratic institutions.

Unless he was to win and then all bets are off. I cannot see beyond that. I cannot see in my crystal ball any future for the United States after that. And even if he loses we definitely will not be United. But at least then he will have no choice but to face justice.

Morning Consult: Biden +1
Marist: Biden +3
Reuters: Biden +4
Yahoo News: Tie
Quinnipiac: Tie

But go on about the 200th most accurate polling company (CNN/SSRS) and let me know how that works out for you.

I do believe Trump has a good chance of winning.

Regardless.

I'd prefer people think Trump will win.

It will help inspire some "fkkk Trumpers" in swing states to vote.

This election will define the future of our nation.

" not going to mention that Harvard-Harris Poll that has Trump +4?"

What a riot.

Every political junkie knows polls take responders, then adjust the sample to fit the electorate.

The "electorate" is based on the turnout and proclivities of the prior election.

IOW, none of these polls take into account pissed off women. PO'd women have stunned red Kansas, red Ohio, and red Alabama.

Dems will do ~4-5% better than polls.

NYT - Trump +1
Emerson - Trump +3

#19 | POSTED BY DANFORTH AT 2024-04-29

It's going to be more like the Dems are going to outperform the polls 10-15% or even higher. These polls cannot even get their margin of error even close to right anymore.

They were off in Alabama by 32 points where the Democratic candidate won and 8 points in New York for santos old seat. These huge polling errors are no longer the outlier, they are the norm with all the poll manipulation going on.

I have to say that there are times when I see a blue wave of epic proportions this November given the Republican nominee and the abortion situation and the SC doing what it does.

There are also times that my mood swings and I think about the number of abject morons this country holds.

Add college protests to the list. Surburban soccer moms don't like chaos and threats of violence in multiple colleges across the land. These protests will very likely help get Trump elected, and then guess what? He will crack down on those very same protests. AOC warned of this:

Americans will die. Trump's actions will ignite outrage and then he'll make more of us die. Americans will die and be imprisoned until Donald is carried feet-first from the White House.

This is an old movie, now coming to a theater near you.

Every primary poll had fat nixon winning by margins he failed to produce in the actual vote.

Fat nixon lost 157,000+ (16.5%) of GOP voters to Haley who ended her campaign over a month ago.
