The Best, least corrupt, most moral President of my lifetime.

He lived long, and well, a Credit to us all, as Americans.

Humble and Gentle for the most part. A Man who gave as much in private life as he did as President.

Unassuming and Decent, a Man of Quiet Virtue.

He Will be Missed.

Jimmy Connors was a terrible president.

He lived a full life and a good life. He was a lousy and ineffective president but a good man.

I remember my dad telling me when I graduated from college that in the 20th century the US had 2 honest presidents - Carter and Eisenhower.

We've bought several items from flooring to appliances from a store here called "ReStore," a Habitat For Humanity fundraising entity in a former Kmart here.

We were renovating a house we bought last summer for my brother-in-law. They were all brand new items that contractors donated when their clients changed their minds and wanted different floor patterns or appliances. ReStore is a very handy resource. And it's great to know what we pay will go to help others.

Jimmy Carter inherited the out of control inflation. Gerald Ford's campaign motto was "WIN" : Whip Inflation Now. Not much he could do about the Fed keeping interest rates high.

I think he would have gotten the hostages out of Iran had Reagan not sent a group to Iran that got them to agree NOT to release them until after the election. Much like Nixon did with blowing up a Vietnam Peace plan the North and South were *this close* to finalizing in 1968.

He tried to get us weaned off of Middle East oil. The solar panels he installed on the White House were taken down by Reagan. That was 1981. 43 years ago.

Let's be honest, he had a lot of things and politics that were out of his control working against him.

Where he could make a difference without interference includes a Nobel Peace Prize for negotiating a treaty between Israel and Egypt.

He did inherit some things beyond his control.

Also, in his memoir Reagan lamented that he never received proper credit for actually starting what became to be known as "Reaganonics". That tough love approach to brining down runaway inflation really was the brainchild of Paul Volcker who was given the task (which took years) with 6 months left in Carter's presidency. I won't even say he's the worst president in my lifetime. That 'distinction' belongs to George W Bush, IMO.

There were 14 cases of guinea worm disease globally in 2023 and zero in the first quarter of 2024.

That's down from 3.5 million in 1986.

There are a grand total of three Seawolf class submarines in the US Navy. SSN-23 USS Jimmy Carter is the last, and a unique variant of that class.

Jimmy is a better man than most of us can ever hope to be. A man too good for politics.

A true Christian who worked to make the world a better place.

Odds of the demented orange piece of filth posting something awful about him on the day he passes?

Odds of smelly attending the funeral?

His best work was done after he left political office. In that regard Carter had few peers, and could be considered to be among the greatest humanitarians of the 20th Century. There is a place of honor for him in the afterlife.

I did Habitat work for a number of years, and can understand how Carter was so committed, after I was lucky enough to have dinner with Habitat founder Millard Fuller. An unassuming guy until he opened his mouth. Persuasive and spell-binding...

I'm ending a one year long self imposed boycott to set the record straight on former president Carter. He was the worst president ever until chocolate Carter and the current potato in chief. He may have tried to make up for his treason later in life. His legacy remains. Whenever a leftist or Democrat dies the world becomes a better place.

Our greatest former POTUS in retirement.
An upstanding human being.

His legacy is sound.
He will be missed.

God speed and a good rest Sir.

Had me right out to labeling worst in your lifetime. That distinction goes to the 45. I understand why you might say it in many respects but the deliberate brewing of division in this country and attempts to overthrow a fair election is worse than anything.

Visitor. I'd be curious of your comparison of any of the three to the worst 19th-century president, in your esteemed opinion. Couple paragraphs should do it.

Carter has my respect for what he did once out of office. A good man in that respect.

But as a President, there's no argument he was the worst in history. He's only the greatest among progressives. Every other clear thinking American lists him at the bottom of the Presidents. His actions led directly to a unit I spent alot of time in, as a military person and as a contractor, Joint Special Operations Command. I've had alot of good years there.

Well, yes, I mean people who can spell academics, lol.

And no, they aren't all progressives, they are all world leading experts on history, and American history in particular.

But hey, you are right. The Trailer Park Presidential historians prolly have Trump rated higher.

Did he let a disease kill a million Americans?

Did he encourage and insurrection?

No.

Then STFU.

No one has ever called Carter the greatest in history, Boaz. You don't need to lie to prove the point that you're kinda ignant when it comes to these matters. One doesn't have to be an academic to figure that out.

Obama would have lost a zillion best president points if the Bin Laden raid had failed like "Operation Eagle Claw", but his strike team in Pakistan was competent.

That's the one thing I find most admirable, and most unique about Obama.

NEPTUNE SPEAR was an incredibly high-risk mission, and had it failed, if US service members had been killed or captured, he would have been impeached. Maybe more importantly, it would have caused damage to the party as well.

It was a ballsy move. I'm sure there were many in the party who were against it.

One of the few modern presidents whose life might serve as a source of positive inspiration for people.

That's probably the least we should expect from elected officials; it's also the least we actually get.
