So much for the "leave it up to the states" propaganda. The christofascists wont rest til they can control women everywhere.

Texas is just going to end up with every woman in the state voting pro-choice and while they're there they'll vote for Harris.

They can sue all they want, but FERPA is federal and no hospital or clinic will provide ANY records to the state. Period. End of story.

That's yet another sad chapter in the history of Abbottistan, the most corrupt state in the country.

There is no wrath like the wrath of a woman scorned.

It's like they are actively trying to turn Texas blue by pissing off women.

Well ok. If that's what they want then I say go for it!

Don't you mean HIPAA, not FERPA?

There's a scene in the Handmaids Tale where a woman crosses the border into Canada and the Mountie who finds her reads off a prepared speech about whether or not she wants asylum Canada from the nation of Gilead. It's a powerful scene.

I'd love to see a similar campaign commercial where an obviously pregnant woman flees Texas into New Mexico and a New Mexican State Trooper reads off a similar prepared speech asking her if she wants asylum in New Mexico from the state of Texas.

Criminalizing women who are protecting their health is the Republican Way.

@#7 ... Criminalizing women who are protecting their health is the Republican Way. ...

I may change that a bit...

Criminalizing women who are protecting their health so that those women can have a baby in the future is the Republican Way.

If Dotard gets elected, this will be national policy under Project 2025.

I just wonder about the conservatives who post here; regardless of your views about abortion, do you really want the state to be able to violate a person's privacy rights? If our Supreme Court wasn't dominated by corrupt Justices Texas would be slapped down immediately, I believe even non-corrupt consevatibe Justices would deny Texas on this insult to the Constitution.

States' rights has always been code for white supremacy, white christian rule, and the right of Texas to control the lives of women in that state is American Taliban at its worst.

What is wrong with these people? Unfortunately, I know exactly what is wrong.

The need to dominate and persecute SOMETHING is deeply ingrained in MAGA. When these people talk about freedom, they are talking about freedom for some sort of elite class, which they all imagine themseleves to be members.

But, of course, they're not. MAGA is treated like useful goobers to those actually in charge. But give them red hats and a woman, brown person, hippy to beat up and they are content. Like handing infants binkies.

The Handmaids Tale had a powerful scene where a handmaid made it across the Canadian border and a Canadian Mountie came upon her and read off a speech to her offering her asylum from Gilead. I'd love to see a commercial where a woman, with no signs of pregnancy but holding her belly crosses the border from Texas into New Mexico, and is lying on the ground exhausted from running hard, and a New Mexican state trooper reads nearly that exact same speech asking that woman if she want's to seek asylum from the State of Texas.
