Fear of increased ICE raids have already negatively affected the nation's agricultural sector, causing alarm that food prices could skyrocket in the near future as a result of Donald Trump's aggressive immigration policies.

The end result: acres of unpicked oranges roasting in the California sun at the height of the season.

So lots of free slightly rotten oranges ripe for the picking, so to speak? Trump really is bringing down the price of groceries!

He promised you he would do this AT THE SAME time he promised to lower food prices.

It's not our fault you were too stupid to understand he was never going to lower prices and that his actual policies were going to have an inflationary effect on them.

You idiots fell for his bull**** yet again.

I a sure that MAGA will adapt readily to a diet of beans and rice.

Eggs, oranges, and hamburger will become become dim memories and then stories told to MAGA children, who will refuse to believe them.

There is a profound mystery in all of this.

MAGA was told and told and told that this day would come.

Is this the day they wanted? I don't think so. So why did they let it happen?

Why bitch and moan for years about grocery prices and then make sure that those same prices went way the hell up"

Madness. Just madness. These people have to be mentally ill, all of them. They don't live in a world of cause and effect.

The news says that almost all citrus harvesting has stopped. That mostly hits the Red States. No more oranges from Arizona and no more ruby red grapefruit from Texas.

Or, at least, no more of them that MAGA can afford.

This is frankly bizarre.

MAGA voted for Donald to come raid their kitchens.

I'd advise them to make lemon aide out of lemons, but lemons are also citrus.

I wonder if MAGA knows that?

Gee. Who could have seen this coming...

I also thought it was only going to be criminals. What number of broken promises are we up to now?

Grocery prices will be going up.

Availability of produce will decrease.

America really was the greatest nation on earth, about 8 years ago.

You don't get it. I will afford oranges.

MAGA is losing it's slaves.

Of course, MAGA could all go a' picking, and get this harvest in.

I mean, these are American jobs that are now going begging for, er. Americans.

#11 | Posted by Zed at 2025-01-23 11:16 AM | Reply

Americans aren't going to fill these jobs.

These actions will directly make life for all Americans, worse.

There will be a ripple effect.

Bad things are going to happen to MAGA and I genuinely wonder if they will understand why?

#13 | Posted by Zed at 2025-01-23 11:25 AM | Reply

We don't need slaves.

What we had was a work program for future citizens.

Come to America and work in the fields and your children will benefit from being born here.

Xenophobes are going to get their wish, no more immigrants doing the jobs Americans don't want.

Careful what you wish for.

Private prisons are chomping at the bit to fill that labor need. Republicans in congress are heavily invested in private prisons. The math is simple.

Egg prices, by the way, are now at an all time high. So much for that promise.

Well, Well, Well: Trump Can't Lower Egg Prices After All

" SNEAK PEEK: We embedded exclusively w/ ICE Boston today as they targeted egregious criminal aliens. We witnessed 8 arrests, including multiple MS-13, Interpol Red Notices, murder & rape suspects, & a volatile Haitian gang member w/ 18 convictions in recent years who told our cameras he "ain't going back to Haiti" and "f**k Trump, Biden forever!".

We also witnessed a "collateral" arrest, where ICE arrested an illegal alien who wasn't their initial target - but was with a MS-13 gang member who had been released by a sanctuary jurisdiction yesterday with an ICE detainer not honored. These collateral arrests are something that border czar Tom Homan has warned would happen in sanctuary jurisdictions. At one point, a woman yelled out "thank you" to ICE as a violent illegal alien was being arrested in her neighborhood. "

I expect our prison industrial complex to backfill the loss of migrant labor. It's already happening in one of the S-Hole southern MAGAt states where they are holding prisoners beyond the end of their sentences because the hire them out and make money from their labor, there's a word for that, slavery.
