A quick flick of the riding crop across that fat barbarian's rump and we are on track for Lesson #2 in Professor Xi's "Learning Some Manners" course. Porko, sluggish, wobbly orange barbarian with tiny corpse-white hands slow learner.
Subject of Lesson #2 draws on the proverbial Charlie Chan observation: "Admitting Failure Like Drinking Bitter Tea."

The world sees Trump as dangerous because he is reckless, not because he is intimidating or smart.
Yeah, the man backed down. Give it an hour and he'll have another brain fart and bow up again. Then back down again. Then fart again. Then back down...

The CEOs of three of the nation's biggest retailers " Walmart, Target and Home Depot " privately warned him that his tariff and trade policy could disrupt supply chains, raise prices and empty shelves, according to sources familiar with the meeting.

"I wish to be clear: America first does not mean America alone. To the contrary, it is a call for deeper collaboration and mutual respect among trade partners."

All that and we accomplished nothing...
EXCEPT
1. Huge Market Losses 2. Pushing our Trade Partners to band together against us 3. Losing trade deals to foreign competitors 4. Future Bankrupting businesses and farms 5. Proving the US will blink and our threats are meaningless 6. Proving Trump literally has no idea what he is doing
Good Job, Trumpers.

"To the contrary, it is a call for deeper collaboration and mutual respect among trade partners."
Oh I see.
It is a call for the very thing we had, until Trump started messing with trade policy.
Republicans know I'm right. That's why they're keeping their mouths shut.
Fun thread.

Trumpers: "He's playing 4D Chess and you all don't understand it!"
This idiot is playing tic-tac-toe against himself and somehow managing to lose.

This sounds about right on schedule to prop the markets up for his insiders to sell off before announcing another round of tariffs next week.

CEO gloom rivals financial crisis as tariffs hit S&P 500 stocks finance.yahoo.com
... Not since the financial crisis has Corporate America been so downbeat about the state of the economy in earnings calls, an ominous sign for investors trying to figure out how much more pain Donald Trump's trade war will inflict on the stock market. The ratio of positive to negative comments on macroeconomic conditions during this reporting season has dropped well below its average and is on track for the worst proportion since 2009, according to a Bank of America Corp. (BAC) analysis of the first conference calls. Earnings season is usually a boon for equities, but with the S&P 500 (^GSPC) down nearly 15% from February's all-time high as investors brace for the fallout of Trump's attempts to rewrite the rules of global trade, the stakes could hardly be higher this time around. That's especially true for firms with profits more closely tied to vagaries of the economy, like carmakers and transports. Some executives are struggling to gauge the impact of the White House's rapidly shifting policies on their businesses. That's further pressuring US stocks that threatened to sink back toward a bear market in recent days on the heightened risk of a recession and a resurgence in inflation from Trump's levies. ...

Stupid CEOs. No clue how to run a business.
What they don't understand is this: Trump is rapidly shifting policies in 4-D!

Killer reference! Trump is up there blinking "TARIFFS" in Morse Code.
Prisoner Of War Jeremiah Denton, who survived 7 years locked in a tiny windowless cell in Hanoi during the Vietnam war, has passed away in his Virginia home, aged 89. The veteran famously alerted the U.S. military to conditions at the Hanoi Hilton' and other camps when he blinked the word torture' in Morse code during a television interview " a message missed by his captors. www.warhistoryonline.com

I've been noticing recently that Mr "Tariffs are great" Navarro seems to have disappeared from the media scene, replaced by Sec Bessent's media blitz.
Coincidentally, Pres Trump has been retreating, with his tail between his legs, from his prior hard line tariff positions.
