New Delhi: Iran's Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi announced on Sunday that he will travel to Moscow for high-level talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin, following overnight US airstrikes on Iranian nuclear facilities. Speaking at a press conference on the sidelines of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) summit in Istanbul, Mr Araghchi said the consultations with President Putin would take place Monday morning. The move comes in the immediate aftermath of the US targeting three key Iranian nuclear sites, in what Washington has described as a "necessary step" to prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons.

Interesting take, as almost every Democrat (minus Fetterman and one or two others) have made the claim that Iran wasn't pursuing nuclear weapons. Kinda kills that whole argument.

And Iran now has all the motivation and concrete justification to take them.

Anyone think that Trump factored in this possibility when he started this war?

An escalation of prior unspoken Russian policy. Previously Russia was helping Iran make its own, now it's admitting to giving them outright.

US, UK fears Russia may be helping Iran's nuclear weapons program

Iran Foreign Minister says Russia would give them Nukes

Of course, the correct response would be for Trump to give Ukraine back the nukes that they surrendered back in the 90s, when Russia falsely promised to respect its territorial integrity.

But Putin's Beach would never dream of challenging his Midget Master.

Trump won't support Ukraine, wanting Russia to win.

Russia won't support the US, wanting Iran to win.

Donald is in entirely over his head.

Hold on a second here Censored ... the viewpoint of the Left has been that Iran wasn't pursuing nukes. Yet we have a foreign minister stating the exact opposite. Which is it?

Also I don't know why the senile boomer who needs meds is over here commenting on this.

I have no idea who "the Left" is (It used to be me, but apparently not anymore since I don't believe that there are more genders than the color of the rainbow (sex=gender), don't agree that peeps with penises should be competing against ladies in sports (since that seems to be the GOP's divisive issue of the day), and I don't give oral loving to Palestinian terrorists or cry for them when they reap the whirlwind they pleaded for).

But it was crystal clear to anyone who looked, that Iran possessed material that was enriched far more than needed for peaceful purposes. Perhaps to make nukes. Perhaps to keep that door open to create strategic ambiguity, since sponsoring and ordering decades of terrorist attacks on the civilian population of their only neighbor with a nuclear program could have created a need for that deterrence.

- the viewpoint of the Left has been that Iran wasn't pursuing nukes.

Nope. Missed again. The viewpoint from the Left has been that Trump should never have killed the Sanctions on Iran, but since he did, although there isn't direct evidence that Iran was moving towards a Bomb, there was indirect indications that they may well have been, that according to the Dir of the IAEA just now on CNN.

Trump lied to you about what would happen if he removed Sanctions, just like he lied to you about building a Wall that Mexico would pay for, and about the Election being rigged.

Not to mention the literally 10's of thousands of other lies he's told you and you have swallowed whole.

Fair enough censored, well you're always welcome on this side of the fence haha.

As for you Corky, the "sanctions" weren't doing shit to stop them from acquiring nukes and the left didn't have the balls to do what Trump just did.

"the "sanctions" weren't doing shit to stop them from acquiring nukes"

Nonsense. For the first time, the US was able to monitor the supply chains of nuclear programs.. It was actually a diplomatic breakthrough; anyone who talks trash about the deal is clueless.

But Trump dumped it...because Obama.

- the "sanctions" weren't

Dead wrong yet again; they allowed IAEA Inspections that allowed us a much better idea of whether there was a Plan to develop nuclear weapons or not.... which Trump's OWN Cabinet told him there was no such evidence.

- the left didn't have the balls

The left had the brains not to just voluntarily for no reason at all stop doing Inspections which would allow us a better idea of what the Iranian's goals were in the nuclear facilities.

Just like no one had the balls to do what George W. did.

Corky, the IAEA literally released a report days ago confirming suspicions that the Iranian Regime was producing Uranium for purposes that wouldn't be used for power. They were clearly making a bomb and we just put a stop to it. If you want to be an Iran apologist, go book yourself a flight to Tehran, I'm sure they'd love to behead you.

LMFAO Sure they were. They've been saying that for a while now. Simply not true.

Or just made it infinitely more urgent for them to get one.

The one that said "we do not have any indication that there is a systemic program in Iran to manufacture a nuclear weapon"?

Thanks!

Unfortunately, I'm too liberal for that (believe in allowing women autonomy over their bodies, don't hate the gheys, don't care for christianists, become physically ill at MAGAt blind obedience to the worst, most corrupt, and most unsuitable person to ever hold the office of president in my lifetime (if not the history of the United States), believe in government providing the tools people need to reach their abilities (e.g., medical care, schooling, housing), etc.).

But who knows, maybe I'll end up on that side eventually, as some of the libs are doing their best to push me in that direction with the terrorist coddling, multi-gender brainwashing, political correctness-shaming, and so on).

"an Iran apologist"

All that's being said is that Donald Trump, who can't think his way out of a paper bag, is going to ef things up, and---

That you neocons haven't changed any of your stripes since 2003.
