"Musk cuts based more on political ideology than real cost savings

(Reuters) - The first phase of the rapid-fire effort by Tesla CEO Elon Musk and President Donald Trump to cut waste from government agencies appears driven more by an ideological assault on federal agencies long hated by conservatives than a good-faith effort to save taxpayer dollars, according to two veteran Republican budget experts."

Some -------- here believe the president sneaks into their house and ----- their wife and then changes the temp on the thermostat before taking the change on the night stand.

I don't think the president has quite that much impact on my personal life.

Actually, uncovering corruption is up. Meanwhile the price of eggs, which is constantly whined about, is only up because they killed off all the chickens.

Gas prices are down and trending down. This will lower shipping costs on everything and lead to lower prices long term.

Also the main culprit for inflation is government overspending which is being looked at and cut right now. Let's just hope activist judges don't get in the way to stopping government fraud, waste, and abuse. If they don't start cutting government the inflation problem will never end.

"The producer price index, which measures what producers get for their goods and services, increased by a seasonally adjusted 0.4% on the month, compared to the Dow Jones estimate for 0.3%, the Bureau of Labor Statistics reported Thursday.

Excluding food and energy, core PPI was up 0.3%, in line with the forecast.

The release comes the day after the BLS reported that the consumer price index rose 0.5% on the month, putting the annual inflation rate at 3% and well out of reach of the Fed's 2% long-run goal"

All of that happened during Biden's presidency before any tariffs were levied. Trump said he would use tariffs to even the trade playing field. If retailers raised their prices on goods because he said that LAST YEAR, they must've had a crystal ball telling them Trump would win.

Personally, I haven't experienced a significant price increase, above what we've experienced over the last few years anyway.

Walmart literally said this is in ANTICIPATION of tariffs. They also looked into surge pricing.

They were already moving logistic and supply lines to be ready.

Most large companies were.

You haven't experienced a huge price hike more than the last few years because Biden tamed the inflation brought on by supply chain disruption post COVID and Greedflation from corporate America. So that little bump in December was closer to what we had see during the worst times...except it was caused entirely by the government getting involved via the threat of tariffs.
