Monday, May 19, 2025

The Trump administration conceded this weekend what economists, CEOs and consumers already knew: Americans pay for tariffs.

Walmart CEO Doug McMillon said earlier this week that some prices could rise because of the tariffs imposed by President Trump. Trump responded on Saturday, urging the world's biggest retailer to simply absorb the consequences of his trade war.

Trump is a stupid, lying sumbitch who counts on everyone else being as stupid as he is. Given recent administration chatter, threats of military action tribunals against Walmart executives should be ext.

Trump's default response to inconvenient reality is to threaten all within earshot. As a mode of governance it guarantees disaster.

But will Trumpers ever figure out that consumers pay tariff taxes?

He also counts on everyone else to be afraid of him.

Nothing but an incredibly stupid sock puppet of Stephan Miller and Russell Vought.

I suspect that WalMart's executive team will focus on shareholder value, rather than appeasing a bully. Willingly cutting profits is a great way for a CEO to lose his/her job...

Every f'n idiot knows this, but still Trump lied about it. I get why he tried; it's a way to lower the debt without cutting spending, but it was always doomed. Like a salesman, Trump knows how to promote. But, after the sale, his execution sucks. It always has. I'll be f'n joyful when this era of magical thinking is finished. Trump is a coward. Make the f'n cuts or STFU.

Walmart's CFO said that they might hold off on raising the prices of some products so as to gain more market share as the smaller retailers won't be able to absorb the price increases as well as they can. And yet people still wonder why so many despise Walmart and have sworn to never shop there (I can count on one hand the number of times that I've been inside a Walmart store).

Remember when republicans pretended to care about small businesses.

That was before they became the party of the oligarchs.

Stupid people think Trump has some sort of inside information. He loves having stupid followers, because they don't question the moron in charge.

Hey, stupids: Do we still have chemtrails? Of not, when did they stop? If so, is Trump doing them?

When the liberals were crying about Trump hurting pharmaceutical company profits by not allowing them to charge 3x more in the US than in Europe - I thought the Democrats had achieved 'peak stupidity' - yet, here we are with the Democrats now crying about Trump hurting Walmart's profit margin.

Who could have ever predicted this?

Dems are now: against removing taxes on tips an OT
Dems are now: pro-war, especially in Ukraine
Dems are now: for pharmaceutical companies reaping windfall profits on the US
Dems are now: against Walmart's profit margin declining to encourage them to move off of nearly all of their products being made in China
Dems are now: for keeping illegal, wife beating gang members in the country
Dems are now: against ANY and ALL cuts to US government spending
Dems are now: against free speech

You have dipshits have literally morphed into the 1980's GOP. Congrats.

AI tell you that? That's too much for your GED brain to produce.

You should try a different search prompt and see what else you discover.

Tell me which statement is wrong dipshit. I could replace Democrats with 'militant homosexual Clownshack' and it would still be 100% correct.

Also, you crying about AI is funny - as I said, AI is where liberal talking points go to die. The crying is similar to when you dipshits lost control of Twitter.

"Dems are now: against removing taxes on tips an OT"

It's weird how you just can't stop lying.

You should really speak to a mental health professional.

"Ending taxes on tips has bipartisan support from politicians, voters, industry trade groups and Nevada's largest labor union, but tax policy experts have warned that there could be consequences, as previously reported by USA TODAY."

We will see a vote on it shortly - I suspect we will have near 100% Democrat opposition. What do you predict?

#19 | Posted by ScottS at 2025-05-20 02:12 AM | Reply

I predict that Americans will pay for Trump's tariffs.
